Could any one help me?
i created radio button in a gridview when i click this radio button i call a javascript function . in this function i am using the code for changing background color of current row.
I want to change the index of gridview.
is there any code for this pls reply me...

Oh, OK. A gridview is rendered as a table. You need to work out what changes in the HTML when a table row is selected, and then do that.

Hello All,
i have a gridview, dropdownlist, textboxex on web page, when i select dropdown item based on selection(from database) button shuld b created ,some of the button are enabled/disabled, red/green based on condition from database.
Then how to add these button to the gridview , and handling event of these button, if i click the button it should not be vanish.
How it could be.
please give me complete code

Your best bet is to add a hidden control, and to store details of controls you have created in there, as XML perhaps. You need to create those controls on each postback before page load, for viewstate to be restored.

hello sir,
I have developed a asp website using VS 2005.In my institution there is LAN.I have saved my project(website) in wwwroot in my system in which IIS installed.IP address of my system is 192.168.1.198.I like to access that webpage from another computer using IP address. i.e, by typing " http://192.168.1.198/quantum/" but i got an error Page cannot be displayed.How to correct that error? please help me..

What error are you getting?
Just putting on wwwroot, will not do the Job.
-> Open IIS. [ Run > inetmgr ]
-> If you have already placed it inside wwwroot, it will come to the default web site section.
-> Right Click on That Folder, You will get "application Name" text box is disabled. Click on Create Button.
-> Also verify the ASp.NET Version and Authentication Setting.
-> Now try to access.

One more point that I have forgot to mention, did you install IIS before .NET framework or after ? If you have install IIS after .NET framework installing in you machine, then you have register IIS with .NET using aspnet_regiis command from .NET command prompt.
And if still getting the error, please provide exact what is not working, then it will be better from us to give the answer.

hello sir,
Now i am explaining my situation...
1.first in have installed iis5.1 version on my windows xp.
2.next i installed viual studio 2005.
3.then, i have created website in vs2005 using local iis(ie by selecting HTTP)and visual basic code and typed website name and created(ie i have placed website in Inetpub->wwwroot
-> website4).
4.i completed my design in that website and save it.
5.next i open iis and configure it for read,write,executable&scripts,windows authentication, debugging on server and client settings all the other setting on iis
6.i have created virtual directory for Default Website
7.finally i have made all your suggestion made by 'U'
when i run on machine i have installed iis and vs 2005 its working perfectly. but when i try on next machine on LAN "http://ipaddress of iis installed/website4/default.aspx" . it displays error that page cannot be displayed.
this is my problem.
please help me...

If you are saying about from you IDE, it will run because Visual Studio used its own Asp.Net Engine to run.

You are talking about this it is running from IIS ?
Is the following urls are running from the system where you have host you application
http://localhost/website4/default.aspx
http://ipaddress/website4/defailt.aspx
If yes,
Then please check your network. try to ping the system.

i ping the system. no network problem.
but i cannot access the website on LAN from another system using IIS.
one of my friend said that distribution is not possible in vs2005. it wont work in LAN. is it TRUE?

yes i was able to run my application using IIS in the same system which ihave installed vs2005 and iis5.1
when i used these URL from another system(next system of which i installed vs2005 and IIS5.1) in the LAN. it displays PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED ERROR.

http://ipaddress/website4/defailt.aspx
I PING THE SYSTEM WITH THE OTHER. IT GETS DATA FROM IT AND 0%LOSS. SO NO PROBLEM IN NETWORK

hi friends,
Following are my sceanarios :
1. I have a gridview within a updatepanel and I fill this grid through an stored proc.
2. Also I have fucnctionalities in the grid like searching and sorting the data.This is working fine.
3. When I fetch large data it becomes slower and even gives script error.But for small data it is working fine.
4. For searching and sorting I filter the dataset through dataview and rebind the grid which is only working for a small amount of data.
Following are my requirements :
1. I fetch some records say 1000 and place it in dataset and with the use of this dataset I have to impliment the custom pagging with page size 10. so that with large data also searching and sorting will work fine because it will sort only 10 records at a time but search should from 1000 records.
Following are some constraints :
1. I neither change the current StoredProc for custom pagging nor use a new one.Only I have to do it through dataset.
In my dataset I have 1000 records and out of these 1000 records I have to bind the grid with 10 records at a time.
Following are the some logics but I donot know how to implement..
1. Take a temporary dataset and fetch 10 records at a time based on pagging logic from the main dataset and store these 10 records in the temporary dataset and rebind the grid with this temp dataset.so that I will avoid to hit the database again and again when a user selects page numbers from a dropdownlist.
Please help if anyone has this solution....and send some sample code
