How to identify asynchronous postbacks in createsessionid method

I'd suggest you need to put the sort order on the URL, so when you go back to the URL that has the initial view, the URL gives you the sort order. The other option is to use the session, but there's no need for that.

I found the solution.
I was using Gridview inside asp.net update panel. Removing it from asp.net update panel i got what i wanted.
I guess partial page request was an issue.

I am generating my own sessionids by overriding createsessionid method in sessionidmanager class.
Can anyone please tell me how to find out if the current request is a complete postback request or asynchronous postback ?

AFAIK , SessionID is unique and 120 bit identifier that track each and every session request. And This number is generated by proprietary algorithm . and its secure enough to reverse engineering it.

I have multiple nested update panels and i want to generate seperate sessionids for asynchronous postbacks and complete postbacks.
I will be using the sessionid as a key for my custom caching object and the cached object will be reused in other pages.

Also i want to generate a different sessionid when the application is opened in the second tab in the same browser. Since i have update panels in my pages, if i am able to differentiate asynchronous postbacks and complete postbacks i will be able to generate a different sessionid.

Yes, it is. But, as someone said, not using ASP.NET. you can load the file into a windows media player control and ask it how long it is.

I created a DLL (class library) on C#.NET (2005) and want
to use it as an ActiveX control on a web page (html).
I have checked the box for Make "assembly COM visible" in the
project properties before I build the DLL. Code does do much,

here is my C# code for ctrl

this code working successfully on IE 7.0 machine having .NET installed on them
but is not working on Machine those dnt have .NET installed on them.

not checked on IE 6.0.

You need to write your control in C++ if you don't want your users to have to have .NET installed.

I have a web site project (Yes, I know, let's not go in to that. What's done is done and I wasn't here at the time) in a Visual Studio 2005 solution that I am migrating from Visual Source Safe to Subversion.

So far, I've managed to migrate all the projects and remove the bindings to VSS except one. The Web Site project stubbornly refuses to let go of the bindings. If I manually remove them from the solution file using notepad they reappear some time later. Since a web site project has no project file of its own I'm at a bit of a loss as to where else to look.

Can anyone help?

That does not appear to be what I'm looking for.

I don't want to delete or rename things. I want to keep the files with the same names, but I don't want the existing source control bindings to remain as I'm moving to subversion.

Not sure whether this will help you.

You can unbind the source control information in VS2005 by going to "Tools --> Options --> Source Control" and change the current source control plug-in to "none".

This will remove the source control binding.

Can you try the following steps:

1. Select All the files of project. Check the Properties, remove the read only.
2. Search for vssver2.scc, hidden system file. Delete this file.

It should remove the source from VSS, as it works for me.
