The below string is the string which contains html source code….
strdata =" One of most adventure thing to do is<a href=’’>taking</a><div id="nameMeaning"><div>Satish – This is a name</div>Hyderabad</div><br /><span class="source">Dictionary of American Family Names, Oxford University Press, ISBN 0-19-508137-4</span>"
I need to extract the data from first div tag(id="nameMeaning). The content inside div tag will change dynamically. How can i get that particular content between div tags? This div contains another div tag.
Inbetween div tag, it may contains span, anchor tags etc.

If the div is constant, you can just use the methods the string class provides to look for substrings. However, a regular expression seems a better way to go about it.
This has nothing to do with ASP.NET, it's a C# question.

The innertext of div is not constant. it will change always/
the substring method needs start index and length. this i can't give because of unknown of length.
Second one, i dont know how to use div tag in regular expressions.
Is it possible to chekcing for matching of div tags? if so, can you give hint how to specify this div tags in regular exp

Right. So, you need to use the indexof methods to find the index of the start and end of the div.

There's a program called Expresso you can download from CP to help you build regex. That will teach you more than if I build it for you, but it's really very easy to use.

I can use indexof for starting div tag. But how i know the ending div tag. because, the string contains many ending div tags. At that time, how i know the exact end tag of which i looking for?

well, you can count them, but that's why I said to use a regex.

i m using a datagird and when edit mode i want to compare the two date but it dont work the code inside edit item template is:

'does not work' are three little words that can mean so much. How does it not work ? What makes you think the compare validator knows how to compare two dates ? I would assume it's going to do a string compare, which means it will compare the two first characters, and only move on if they are the same, is that what's happening ?
I doubt it can do date compares, although I know there's a property to tell it what sort of comparison to do. I suspect you need to write your own JS to do this.

Have a google, there's loads of examples for uploading files and saving them to disk.
In ASP.net, you'll have to change the default maxRequestLength in the HttpRuntime tag in the web.config to permit you to upload very large files.

Yes i tried with HTTPREQUEST tag in web.config file.. but i don't want to use it as it efects my performance. I want to use streams.

OK - so you're saying you have absolutely no idea what ASP.NET is, or what it does ? I suggest you buy a basic book, and read it.

No, actually, that is not true. This article is about streaming files, which basically means that the input stream is stuffed into the DB in chunks, not all in one go. It has NOTHING to do with streams, excepting that a stream is used. You meant to ask about streaming files, not using streams. And, you have this article, so why are you asking us ?

Well, the point of the article is entirely to save you creating a byte array in memory of the whole file. If you're going to save the file to disc, it will use no memory at all, so the article becomes irrelevant.

I know. And, because the only way you can upload a file from the client is through what ASP.NET sends to the client, which is html, css and javascript, it's plain that you have no idea what ASP.NET is, or what it does. As I said.

That article is wrong. It just uses FileUpload.PostedFile.InputStream and saying that it is efficient. InputStream property is getting filled only when the complete file has been send from client to server through HTTP. So it makes no difference in the speed.

Yes, I understand now how your poor grasp of english is part of the issue, and I apologise for that, because that's not your fault. But, if you ask to upload files using streams, the only logical assumption is that you want some sort of a stream on the client side. That's not how it works, the file is uploaded and the ASP.NET control provides the file as a stream. This article is about not loading the entire file into memory before storing into a DB, but reading it a bit at a time, in order to save memory on the server. It will NOT make the file upload faster, nor can it. It will simply use less memory to store the file. Again, if you know anything about ASP.NET, there is ONE HTML upload control, and that's your only option to upload a file using ASP.NET. It will always work the same, until it hits the server.

any way can you suggest the uploading large file by streaming with out using database...
Accha i have a question.. how rapidshare and other file upload sites manage their uploads..??
