Hi..
I have paradox database files I opened it using Access but the arabic text looks unreadable I changed the font to arabic but this was no use.Do you have any suggestion?

It's probably the cultureinfo of the database rather than the font, fixing it - no idea sorry.

I set the collation for the database to arabic before migrating the database using DTS and the data still unreadable.I tried and copy the data to an email and send it to another employee in the company.In outlook He set the encoding to Arabic(Windows) and it becomes readeable.So I think I have two choices to solve the problem:
1-Set the Encoding in Access to Arabic(Windows):I couldn't find any Encoding settings in Access.
2-Set the Encoding in code for that field in the dataset.
Please if any one knows how to reach one of these solutions tell me about it.

Hi!
I had upgraded Visual Studio 2005 to 2008 and then upgraded SQL EXPRESS 2005 to SQL EXPRESS 2008. However, When I try to add a new "mdf" file under APP_Data directory. I am getting the following error message. How can I solve the problem? The Microsoft.Net Framework Version 3.5 SP1 and Microsoft SQL Server compact SP1 has been already installed.
ERROR MESSAGE
"Connections to SQL Server files (*.mdf) require SQL Server Express 2005"

if i use varchar(max) instead of varchar(50), and use "chandra" only , then will both give the same performance.

well,
i use varchar(max) for very long strings, that i don´t know the size
i use varchar(50) if i know the string never goes of that border
var means variable, so is from 0 to 50.
if you know you only need 3 chars you use char(3)
if you need 0,1,2 or 3 chars you use varchar(3)

I just joined a company that uses SQL 7.0,which am not that much used too.
i can view 'code' for views with 'INFORMATION_SCHEMA.VIEWS
and can view triggers and other objects with 'sysobjects'
i want to view the code for the triggers in a particular table...

OK, so I have a table of businesses. Then I have a table of contacts. So, I have many contacts for the one business. I want to do a search, and use a contact name as a possible search. However, I don't ever want to return the same business more than once. So, I want to return each business that matches at least one contact, with any contact that matches. I've tried putting in a subquery so that I select the top 1 contact for a business, but I can't find a way to write SQL that works.

c.IDClient, c.Company, con.LastName + ', ' + con.FirstName as Contact, c.Phone, c.Fax

inner join tbl_client_contacts cc on cc.IDClient = c.IDClient

SQL query seems ok.Your query don't return data or what?
Have you try to specify table name for column IDContact inside subquery?
