Thanks for your reply. No it is 32 bit vista m/c. we are loading drivers (signed using verisign certificates) dynamically with built-in administrator credentials but fails to load. Also we copied our driver to System32/drivers folder and try to load the driver but it is still failing. Please suggest us to how to load signed drivers.

Can anyone recommend a way to back up a development server? It's not production - so, not life-threatening if something happened to it, but still setting the thing up with all the apps on it represents a lot of hours of work I would not like to have to recreate.
Is there a way to take snapshots of the whole thing periodically so that I could stand up the exact system (os, apps, data) if needed? I've read about software like Acronis True Image and Symantec Backup Exec... more expensive than I'd like, but maybe worth it if it really does the trick. Is there something else that would work reasonably well (again, this is development stuff, not critical)?

I don't know if this is applicable for you. Our development server is running as a virtual machine and we take periodically snapshots of it (via the console application of vmware).

The machine I want to back up is actually a host for many virtuals. I was hoping if I could do an occasional live backup of the host, it would essentially be a backup of all virtuals and all their specific configurations. (kind of watching the watchman?...  )

Why do you have to use ICS? Can't you use a normal NAT gateway?

If I were to purchase a separate internet connected router I certainly could. ICS is a compromise in that I can use the USB external hardware supplied by my ISP and therefore maintain my service expectations from them in an area where I'm lucky to get a connection at all. If I buy my own connection kit I'll get no support when things go wrong.

Hi guys i am new user of linux but this is not my first post to this forum .I have posted approximately 20 posts earlier in c++.I have returned to this forum after approx. 7 -8 months .I was having an important exam .I have installed red hat linux in my computer .But i cannot connect to the net in a linux platform.I have a phone which is like one of those nokia phone which can be connected to the usb port to connect to the net .The phone is Tata Indiacom an indian mobile privider. I downloaded a wadial and wvstreams.I uncompressed the wvstreams and wvdial with the command
tar xvzf wvdial-1.60
as root .The files have been extracted to /root

In all the online tutorial about using wvdial it nis said to type
wvdial /etc/wvdial.conf
but as far as i think this should be different for my linux because it wvdial.conf is situated in a different folder.I can't understand what will be the next course of action
Please guys help me to connect to the net on linux otherwise switching between linux and windows to connect to the net is very irritating

Fropm last 1.2 years i am working in asp.net and asp and in sql 2005 before that i did work in VB and sql 2000 and MS Access 2000. I aslo have free lance experience for 2 years of M.Sc.(I.T.)

I am just trying to investigate the feasibility of having HTTP Compression on IIS webservers. From within the ASP.NET framework, I can have the GZip stream and achieve the same and it works like a charm, taking a bit of CPU load though (since it is managed code).
I am looking at two URLs (below) for IIS 5 and IIS 6:

But both of these options say about direct UI configuration from MMC Snapin for static pages a little MetaBase Tweaking for dynamic pages. Is this a recommended option for high traffic webservers? What do you suggest would be a better route to chose?

Hi all,
I am a newbie to NDIS driver programming. I have written a very basic and simple NDIS protocol driver which just prints a message for all incoming packets. (I've taken help from DDK's Passthru and Protocol driver examples).
The part where I am stuck is that my Protocol driver is registered with NDIS as BindAdapter, UnbindAdapter and PnPEvent Handlers are all getting invoked/called and working as per requirement. However neither ProtocolReceive() nor ProtocolReceivePacket() is getting invoked, even in case of heavy network traffic ( which I confirmed with use of Wireshark). 
Please Help.

I have windows 2003 server, in IIS Application Pools node is not displaying in IIS tree on left side.
I even re-install the IIS but unfortunately i am unable to get it.
Any idea please its urgent

I think this will happen in IIS 6.0 if it's in IIS 5.0 Compatibility Mode.
Right-click Web Sites, select Properties, and go to the Service tab. Ensure 'Run WWW service in IIS 5.0 isolation mode' is unchecked. If it is checked, you should check with anyone else running applications on this server to find out why.

I am trying to set 404 custom error page on windows 2003.
then I restarted the IIs but it fails
In IIS
1. I am selecting the properties of the website
2. selecting Custom errors Tab
3. Then selecting the new custom error page
4. then restarting the IIS
But This procedure fails ... 
pls help me

What's the news on VMWare's ESXi. It is supposed to be available for download free at this time as far as I am aware but I have been checking the VMWare site everyday and nothinh yet.
Any suitable alternatives (possibly free).

I'd check their web-site again. It has been available for free for at least a few weeks now. With a nice little bug that wouldn't let you power on your vms .... but thats fixed now.
depending on what you're going to do with it there are a number of alternatives.
Virtual Server or 2008 for microsoft.
xen, or qemu for linux.
And VMware Server which runs on top of Linux or Windows

. Worse, if I fix the Servers' IP address then it won't accept any address other than it's own as the default gateway. It claims to have 2 default gateways because it's assuming the DNS ( it's own address ) is already a default gateway
