I-step
My asp.net web page need to start an .Exe file when the user click on the button and that exe will fetch data from a machine and pushes back to new file in Notepad format.
II-step
After checking whether the folder has any new notepad file my another page will reads data which is in delimited form data.After splitting the data will be saved into database and serverd for other pages.
This is my situation .
kindly give me out an idea if possible

I am using a grid view containing a lot of templates and controls.
In my webpage, all controls containing gridview is editable.
After postback, I want to retrieve all the
values of the gridview in a dataset or data table.
Is there any method to do that other than doing it row by row and finding each controls within gridview.

My WebApplication is running successfully in visualstudio but when I deploy in IIS it is raising one compilation error.......

Hi All,
I do have the same error.
My application in ASP.Net 2
connecting to ORACLE
and I'm using Master page for the front-end and one other for the back-end
and I faced the same problem when I publiched the web appliction from VS 2005 and deployed it either to IIS 6 on XP OS or IIS 6 on Windows 2003.
I'd deployed before one working published version and it was fine.
I think the main point is coming from the MASTER PAGE for the front end as I'd changed it then the error appears,
in the main while the back end that uses the other Master page is working fine, I think if we re-create the MASTER PAGE it would work fine.
--- please, if anyone solved the problem before me let me know. ----

1. Check What are the framework are available on that system,
2. While Creating the Virtual Directory check the Default Framework Section in
VirtualDirecty - [ Right Click ] - > Properties - > Asp.net Version
3. If this does not helps you, try to use aspnet_regiis command

when you are pressing enter for new line its takes as <p></p> . That's the reason you are getting a blank line.

I need to create an application: upon user login, check the user type and decide the database that application will use for that user. Here is what I have:
1: Master database: stores user information and application configuration data, such as which db to use and connection string
2: Database I on server 1: contains all the application data for user group I.
3: Database II on server 2: contains all the application data for user group II.
4: Database I backup on server 2: as backup for user group 1 in case server 1 fails.
5: Database II backup on server 1: as backup for user group 2 in case server 2 fails.
6: Through log shipping between server 1 and server 2 to keep DB I and I and their backup up-to-date.
7: The web site is running on web farm. The session state management is using SQL server session state management, which is on the same server as Master DB.
My questions are:
1: How do I determine if server 1 or server 2 is down and it's time for application switching to use the DB backup on the other server.
2: What to do if the master DB server is down?
3: Is there a better approach than the above design to achieve the same goals: using different DB for different users, and achieving fast recovery by using the backup server?
I would really appreciate any suggestion and help!

I'm creating a product order form for multiple stores. Each stores order is stored in a database by their StoreId with the ItemId and amount they need to order. The administrator needs to be able to view all of the stores orders on a single page. I would like to display each stores order in a datagrid but don't know how many stores have placed orders. So I have 2 questions: 1. Is this the best approach? 2. How do I create datagrids for each store thats in the database?

You can also create a dropdown or some kind of selection list, and display the selected store's orders. This way you will make it even easier for yourself, because you can also display this page for each store, only then limit the amount of selectable stores. You can then also allow more stores with the same 'owner' but having different locations to select more than one store.

You need an active X control to be iterating over files in a folder and uploading them. ASP.NET can only generate HTML, which only has a control for a single file.
