Hello every one...
I want to know the difference between
timer.enable=true & timer.start
timer.enable=false & timer.stop
I have two different timers on a form one fires at every 5 sec (timer1) and other every 20 sec (timer2)...
I want the timer2 to be pause when timer1 is fired and continue after the codes in timer1 execute are over

Both are same thing
timer.start raising the Elapsed event by setting Enabled to True.
while timer.stop raising the Elapsed event by setting Enabled to False.

Hai.I want to know how to handle printing when the text exceeds one page.
I am Using Draw String Method .
Single Page Printing is not a Problem.But when it exceeds a Page what is the best way to Display the Remaining text in the Next Page?

Make an area (such as a rectangle) on the page, then use MeasureString[^] to determine how many characters will fit in that area. Next, print that many characters, and save the remaining characters for the the next page. You can put that into a loop, each time making a new page, until all characters have been printed.

You check for a condition that says that you need a new page, then use HasMorePages = True to tell your program that there is more to be printed.

Hello all,
i want to create a websetup project form my vb.net Project that one was created in windows application, when i using websetup project for this it will create a setup file. when i install those on my system. it wont reflect Any thing. I dont know why?
Am very frustrated and i am not getting any solution of this problem,
Please tell me how to create a websetup file and how to install that to server, if installed successfully, where can i get the out put? wht can i do in the wwwroot folder? Please Please Please help me.........

hello i am doing work in vb.net2.0 at web form
i am facing the problem when i am converting my Sqltable into excel table.following error displayed.
Description: The application attempted to perform an operation not allowed by the security policy. To grant this application the required permission please contact your system administrator or change the application's trust level in the configuration file.
Exception Details: System.Security.SecurityException: That assembly does not allow partially trusted callers.
i am very frustrated and i am not getting any solution of this problem
it is very urgent to me

Ok, well now that i know how to show the desktop, something else i need the program i am making to do is shutdown, restart, hibernate, and most importantly standby the computer. I know there is a shutdown.exe in the windows directory, and i was wondering if that could do it (if it can, i don't know what commands to pass to it). Also, if your really smart, it would be nice if i could know how to shut down the computer and have it restart after x amout of time (i have seen that done with a 50-second interval, and i don't know if it can be done with variable amounts of time).

do you remember those good old days where /? gave help information on DOS commands?
It still works for shutdown.exe, so most of your needs have an easy solution based
on Process.Start(). The restart-with-delay does not seem to be in the list of options tho.

Thanks, and that helps a lot, but neither of those methods have a function to hibernate or put the comp into standby. Is there any way i can do that?

In VB.net, it is necessary to enclose an identifier in brackets if (1) the identifier matches the name of a keyword, and (2) the identifier is used in a context where the keyword would be valid. Enclosing an identifier is harmless in any case (except, of course, when what one really wants is the keyword).
I would expect that some programmers habitually enclose in brackets identifiers that would be valid as keywords in any context, rather than try to worry about contexts where they might be mistaken as keywords.
As for the parentheses around the string literal, I see no particular reason for them. They're harmless, but pointless.

I just wanted to know because I was testing the Spices.Net decompiler for .Net and everytime it decompiled one of my projects it would put the [] around the .Text bit.

I am working on a macro app. I need to know how to show the desktop from my application. I already have functions from the user32 and kernel32 that will do things like minimize windows, close windows, ect. Is there a function inside a windows dll that will show the desktop, or is there another way to do it? I have already tried to do something simple like
Shell("Show Desktop.scf")
And that failed miserably.
