Hello friends,
I am using built in controls for membership. I got this error when I run the code for passwordrecovery..
what could be the cause and the possible solution?
error is

The SMTP host was not specified.

Exception Details: System.InvalidOperationException: The SMTP host was not specified.

The cause is that you didn't specify an SMTP host, and so an email can't be sent. Specify a valid SMTP host.

Thanks,
I mention the smtp host name. The error is changed now to
" Mailbox unavailable. The server response was: 5.7.1 Unable to relay for iamdking@rediffmail.com"
where iamdking@rediffmail.com is the mail address of the recipient...
What could be the solution for this?

confirmation dialog box in asp.net 2.0

hai friends

in a page i have a button "close"
when i click this button
then i should get a confirmation dialog box
with "ok" and "cancel" or with "yes" and "no"

if press "ok" then the user is redirected to "HomePage.aspx"
else the same is refreshed

plz help me....

This is a basic javascript task. Your button has OnClick, it also has OnClientClick. OnClientClick points to a javascript function, if this returns true, OnClick is called. This sounds like you can do it all on the client in JS tho.

Do you have any sort of source materials yourself, such as books ? You should get some.

An event is just a method, but it's also a delegate, which is basically a pointer/reference to a method. This means a method is specified as a paremeter, in code, and whatever method(s) you specify are called when that event fires. So, you can write a function, and it's a function. If you write a function with the signature of an event, and attach it to an event, then the event mechanism is used to associate that function being called with that event firing.

declare a string,and use server variables to bring down path.

You can modify the path by remodifying the code

        Label1.Text = modify;
    }
}

Which will appear similar to Breadcrumbs, with minor modifications you can make it to breadcrumbs too. Big Grin | :-D

Hi,
this is strange i guess, this might not happen as .NET itself reduces it properly.

but in case, use javascript tags with writting runat="server" for ur drop down. it will exactly work as <asp:dropdownlist xmlns:asp="#unknown">
and use "for loop" to fill ur 1000 datas.

Use javascript maximum possible in ur coding this will reduce load on server because javascript run on client machine, so data transfer time from clint to server then back to clientis saved in much extent. and your page wont postback also

Pass your file name and path to javascript and use window.open('path','attributes').

I was trying to rewrite the url.
in the inline code i have the link button with the following tag
