Hi,
I want to get all th controls of a certain type from the Page. For example, i might want to look for all the controls of type BaseValidator
I can do it like this:

But does anyone know a better way (instead of having to iterate through ALL of the controls on the page)?

This won't work, it needs to be recursive. And no, there's no better way.

My application uses the ReorderList to allow people to reorder NFL players on a fantasy football cheat sheet. The problem I'm having is that in IE6, when you're dragging players around, the entire contents of the <itemtemplate> are shown, even those controls that I explicitly want to hide via css.
This problem is arising because I have a 'note' area that allows people to add notes on players, but in order for me to fix all of that functionality into a small area, I have to show/hide numerous controls. But, when you reorder the players ALL of the controls (including the ones I'm hiding) get shown and thus break the layout when dragging.

I have a order_Details table into SQL SERVER 2005 and cloumns are below
OrderID, ItemID, Notes, Quantity, TotalPrice, and query is
SELECT ItemID, Notes, Quantity, TotalPrice FROM OrderDetails WHERE OrderID=1000
I want to design my gridView like
IF NOTES IS NOT NULL THEN
Row should be

(NOTES should be in next line same row)

(NOTES should be in next line same row)

I'm trying to have a button inside dot net nuke that when clicked will launch an outside form. (A hosted order page) to be exact, it is for credit card processing. The button has been created in VS 2005 and I can launch it fine from there, however I do not know how to create a button anywhere inside DNN. Another hiccup is that the code embedds some signatures (price, currency, authorization) so i don't know how that will weffect things either.

I have 2 button (1) Select All (2)DeSelect All button. Select All button should select all the checkboxes in the GridView...Importantly when the paging is allowed...
The problem is, when paging is allowed, the checkbox is checked only in the first page not on the second page and the subsequent ones. The following code shows the code.
How can I get every check boxes selected? how to do with Javascript? If possible, can we do without Javascript.. with C#.
Please help.

This is one way you could do it (this is without javascript. you could do the same thing with javascript and probably faster too)
[This will work if you are using client side paging (i.e. when the select method returns, it returns all the possible records, not just the page - which is know as server side paging)]
1. Create a map of the records. The key would be the unique id of the record, the value would represent the checked value. This now becomes your model for manipulating the records when the checkbox value is used.
2. When the data is loaded, their values would have to be inserted (if not already present) or updated.
3. When the select all button is fired, simply update all the values in the map. [note: you should give feedback to your user that all the records have been selected. Something like "All 375 records have been selected"]
4. Set the checkbox property AutoPostback to true and update the map every time a checkbox is updated.
When actions are being executed that rely on the check box value (for example, delete selected), use the Map to determine which records are selected.

I have a gridview that is being dynamically bound to a generic list. To add a blank row I am re-querying the DB and inserting a new, empty, generic object to the list. Now, once I have the new blank row displayed in the gridview, how do I allow for users to add data to the new row?

How would I best handle errors in a basic data capture and viewing web application? I'm looking at using different View objects, and if an error occurs when, e.g. inserting a new record, I activate the 'error view', and display and error message. If the insert succeeds, I activate the 'confirm view', and show a success message, etc.
Is there an established pattern for such error handling in ASP.NET?
