but wen i tried with table , controls are showing but not in the table.
i given the table border = 2px. and tested.

Then your table was buggered. Fix it. If the tr/td tags are not correct, it will appear outside.

where you want the two items. The issue is that it needs to be well formed and your items to position need to be inside the table.

Ok... i have a table named "TabMain" and a row named "DynRow.
i want to create the dynamic tables inside that row. hope u saw my code i posted .. above..

currently i m using asp.net with c# (.net 2005, 2.0 framework).
i m filling data to datagrid (or gridview) and displaying to user.
how to make the HEADER freeze?? (HEADER should not scroll.
populated value only should scroll downloads).

You can put the grid inside a scrollable div, then put the header above it. The datagrid won't do this, you may need to use a repeater.

in c++ , i could declare the header files in a seprate file , and thus the same file can be declared on the top , instead of declaring again and again all the header files every where.

Like wise , can i do the same in the c# , regarding the framework base classes.

This is a C# question. C# does not need header files to be included. If you mean using statements, the answer is no.

I've created a webpage which contains Imagebutton. This image path will be changable, so i want to put in web.Config file.
Now how can i assign imageurl?

Am using the code as:

ImageUrl='<%= ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["ImagePath"]%>navigation_02.jpg'

But image is not displaying and i got source code generated for this aspx page is:

you could try an img tag, or set the value in your code behind.

I dont want to assign this in code behind. I want only in aspx page. Is there any other way to set the imageurl?

Sorry, I want only image button. Bcoz i'm using around 50 pages. I can't change all now..!! Any other solution is there?

Do you mean you want the same image to be applied to the image button throughout your project?
If so just use a common_methods class and declare it in there

The problem is that the Image tag does not run the inline code tags.

how to get that value from common_methods?
Also i don't want to use codebehind..!!

Quite plainly, if <%= is not parsed in the image tag, then I don't see what other solution you could possibly hope for, in the ASPX.

I spent some time testing, and sure enough, for an Image server control, the values need to be set in the code behind, for an img tag, the inline method works fine.

my question is : can I load all the xml file via a web service, or it the web methode can manipulate the xml file and return only information needed.

I am using classic Asp and I want to design a dynamic related football website with MSSQL.
I would like to design my CMS (Content Management System) in such a way, that an administrator user can update the content of a variable row/column data table in a very convenience way.

As an idea, I thought to export an XML file from the Excel and then to import it in my CMS. Alternatively, what do you suggest?

What do you mean by previous dates ? Dates before today ? Dates previously selected ?

Obvioulsy, no C# code can help you here, it's a client side control, which means it's javascript. You'd need to hack the control to get it to do something that's not supported by the properties it exposes, or just not use it.

Hello everyone.

I have a reporting application, in which you can choose some different kinds of report through a simple ASP.NET menu webcontrol, fed by the regular web.sitemap file.
Each report page has several pages of detail, which you access by clicking on one item of those listed in the page. Some of the detail pages are shared between two or more report pages, and the parameters are passed through querystring. Nothing new or weird so far.
The big problem started when we were asked to provide a "back" button for each page.
This button is based on browser history and should get you back to previous page no matter where you are.
Our big issue is that sometimes, accessing a report from the menu seems to clear the browser's history, thus rendering our smart "back" button useless.
Is there some undocumented bug in the ASP.NET menu control, which may cause this issue?

Any help would be much appreciated.

UPDATE: the application runs fine in IIS 5.1, the issue seems to be in IIS 6. Also, not only navigating through the menus, but also filtering the report data sometimes clears the history.

Any ideas? what is changed between iis 5 and 6 about how history's managed?

FURTHER UPDATE: My fault; it is not the web server, but the database which causes the issue.
When i use a small test database, everything works. When i use a large production database, the problem shows up. It's almost like the browser "resets" itself when the page takes too long to fetch the data from the DB. BTW, I'm using SQLExpress 2005.

Can anybody help? This time I'm really stuck and even googling can't help me. Please give me an hand.

YET ANOTHER UPDATE: It seems to happen with IE (6 & 7) only. Gecko-based browsers run just fine. Really, can't get head nor tail out of this.
