hi
in my app when i set my controls, right to left, it display arabic numbers correctly, but when i use trading components (like devExpress), it does not support rtl languages to display arabic numbers correctly, so, i want to create custom globalization for arabic numbers and use it's format to display arabic numbers correctly, but i don't know how to create custom globalization for this aim, can anyBody tell me how to do ? (article, tutorial or sample code)

I have seen many PDF files with checkbox, textbox, radiobutton etc. I want to create a PDF library which is able to create this kind of PDF document.
I am looking for help in following areas:
1) Is there any plug-in provided by Microsoft Visual studio (or any tool)that creates PDF file using Drag-n-Drop controls from toolbox?
2) What should be the guideline to create PDF file (What makes it Portable?)
3) It will be helpful, if any one can suggest sample code to add checkbox in PDF document. There are lots of third party tools, which provide dll and we create PDF document using that. I want to create my own library.

From Microsoft - no. Adobe has Acrobat which does this, but there is no Visual Studio integration. I don't know of any product that creates PDF files that integrates with Visual Studio.

Go to Adobe's site for the specification on the PDF file format. It'll probably be behind the Developer site, which, last I checked, was a pay-to-play subscription.

Since there is no support for PDF files in the .NET Framework, you'll have to use some third party library that does this, like PDFNet. You'll have to check with the documenation on the library you're using on exactly how to do this.

Then you'll definately need to subscribe to Adobes Developer site to get the support to build this library. After that, you'll have to come up with your own code snippets to demonstrate using your own library to add a checkbox.

Hi all,
I have one resource file in which there is some data and when i want to add the data programetically in the resource file. but when i try to add the value in that file i get an error - There is no editor available for "name of resource file"
Make sure the application for the file type (.resx) is installed.
after getting this error i can not able to open resource file.

Happened to me a few times... Normally happens when a file / path is renamed / has an invalid name.
To fix resource file, find the entry with your Data (In this case Brief.vsk) and remove the following 3 lines:
<data name="Brief" type="System.Resources.ResXFileRef, System.Windows.Forms">
<value>..\Resources\Brief.vsk;System.Byte[], mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089</value>

I'm trying to install a new version of software I have written in C# using a setup and deployment project.
I am getting the following error:
Error: Another version of this product is already installed.
So i have changed the version number on the C# project, however I cannot find where in the setup and deployment project to change it's version number.
As it appears to be the setup and deployment project's version number that is causing the problem.
Is my only solution to re-write the setup and deployment project which will auto-generate a new version number?

two options:
1) change the version number to one greater than what you have and rebuild
2) use Windows "Add/Remove Programs" to remove the product that's currently installed and then reinstall the new version
The problem is that windows caches the installer somewhere in it's bowels when you run it. Then when you go back into the project, make changes and rebuild there are now two distinct copies of the installer: the one that windows cached when you last successfully ran it and the new one that you just built in your DEBUG (or Release) folder. Both installers have the same product name and version number so when you try to run the new installer that you just built windows looks and sees that the product that you're trying to install is already there. Then you get the error message that you're seeing.
One way to fix the problem is to used the installer that windows cached when it was to run to remove your product. To do this go through Windows "Add/Remove Programs" and remove it from there.
To change the version number select the Setup Project's project file in the Solution Explorer and look at the Properties tab. One of the Properties is the version number.

Thanks for that - it's very helpful.
However... I am feeling very stupid as I cannot find a version number on the form that opens when I select Project / [ApplicationName] Properties... within the setup and deployment project.
Am I missing something?

It's not you, it's Microsoft hiding stuff from you 
Select [ View -> Solution Explorer ] when that comes up highlight the project file and then select [ View -> Properties Window ]. There's lot's of good stuff in there including the Version Number

Impossible. Can't be done. If you can take control of the code sending the event, you could do it, but it would make more sense to have a new event args that contains your extra info. Unless you write the code that sends the event, you plainly can't change what it sends.

You need to create a new class which inherits from the FileWatcher, than catch the Created event and raise your own event. You can pass as many parameters as you want, or even change the EventArguments and add new properties to that which would be neater in my opinion...

Printing jobs go to the print spooler, do you want to watch that somehow ? Not sure if you can in C#, without using p/invoke to get C++ to do the heavy lifting. Even then, I am not sure of the details, just thought I could point you in the right direction....

Hello,
I was wondering how can I build a custom install that would show the user a list of optional applications, and the user will be able to choose which he wants ? (like the custom insatllation of office/windows)
I have tried to go over the standard dialog of the "setup project" in visual, but didn't find anything suitable ?
On the same subject, what are the merge modules, and what are they good for ?

merge modules allow you to merge code into your install, such as runtime libraries, etc.
The list of optional applications - I dunno what you can do with VS but with www.advancedinstaller.com, I can set up files to be installed, make them part of groups, then have the user select which groups to install. The Office etc stuff is more complex again, I doubt they use the standard MSI format for that.
