Hello,
I have a group called GroupX and it contains several brands. Those brands contain products and those products have two values: their price and their product number. Now I want to store this in a XML file, and I know that I have to use System.XML but I just can't find out on how to store, read and modify this data using XML. I've searched the internet, but didn't find what I was looking for.. I am using Visual Basic with Visual Studio 2005.
Please help me out,

Is this in a database or do you want to create the xmlDocument in Visual Basic from a text file or something?

There is a myriad of ways to store XML, the easiest is to use a stringbuilder to build your XML by hand, but that is more error prone than using XMLDocument or the XMLStreamWriter ( not sure what that is called ). XMLDocument is a standard DOM implimentation, it's how you would read/modify an XML document.

I try to implement WSE and Custom UsernameTokenManager (http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa480575.aspx#wss_ch3_impdirectauth_wse30_topic6) to connect todatabase
I use in my webconfig:

Look for some tutorial or example articles on working with the XML DOM. There are millions of them. There are even small samples in MSDN documentation for the <code>System.XML.XMLDocument class. You might find such articles here on CodeProject or TopXML or www.w3schools.com or on MSDN.

I haven't had to do this in the last year, but unless things have changed each search engine has different requirements for sitemap files. You will need to visit each of the search engines separately and look at the schema for their sitemaps and use that as a guide.

Hi all,
I want to build an application in which I have an XML files which contains the connection string and credentials to connect to multiple databases. I want to connect to these databases and run a stored procedure on these database and close the connection. Can anyone guide how to proceed on this. I want to have front end which will fetch the data from the XML file for database connection, make the connection, run the stored procedure and Close the connection. Any Idea How can this be implemented.

Just use XPath to select the nodes containing your connection strings, then use them to connect. Which bit are you stuck on ?

HI am trying to Serialize( cos requested by application )
a class using XML Attributes.
Xml file should be like the one written below. I tried using XML
Serialization Attributes but I cannot find any solution.
The fact is that for each item name is an attribute for the class
variable, but I am not able to put the value without adding an extra tag.
Have you some idea about that?

Hi,
I have to parse an XML file with a .NET XmlTextReader. The Read() method of this class moves from the current node to the next one. However, if it comes accross a node it can't read (ie: malformed/corrupted XML node), it cannot skip it and move to the next node: the program is stuck.
Is there anyway to deal with this problem? Or is there a less restrictive .NET XML parser out there?
(basically the parser is bugged at a node like <name foo="bar" ,foo2="bar2"> as the comma is not a valid character to start a new attribute)

TopXML and www.w3schools.com both contain tutorials and references for working with XML. There is also small amounts of example code in the MSDN documentation for the classes in the System.Xml namespace.

I want to write a Java component to populate a table(Dojo grid) from a XML which will valid through a XML Schema (The XSD file ).That means I am having the .xsd file and have to create a table structure corresponding to the XML structure (That is .xsd file ).
Can anybody help me on giving some idea how to convert a .xsd file to its corresponding table structure .

I am trying to construct a WordML document client-side in Javascript, from an XML file containing my data (obviously) and a XSLT file on the server. My code is below. How do I 'send' the generated WordML document to the browser so that it can be opened in Word?

I am am getting a result back from the web service as an XML. When ever a new user will be in the site these web services will be called.
I have two options to parse the XML:
1. Parse and get the required nodes using XPATH.
2. Get every thing in a data set and fetch it with a reference of data table and column name.
I need to just pick one single node each time parse the XML. Please suggest me which approach I should use.
I have gone through the below article and it says:

Hi All,
I am generating a xml using asp and posting to a https link. For posting I am using MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP.3.0 object. But, it is giving the following error while sending the xml to https link "msxml3.dll (0x80072F0C) A certificate is required to complete client authentication"
In Microsoft this is confirmed as a bug for MSXML version 2.0. But, I am using the MSXML version3.0. Also I installed the certificate(which I got from the server) in IIS properly(MSDN documentation).
