as i said i am developing a profiling application.
in that i want to display the exact code using the pdb.

Sorry about that, I guess I read too fast. I think the pdb won't do what you need though. The pdb file is basically used by the debugger to attach/link to its corresponding application. In the case of profiling, I've read before that .Net has a Profiling API.

i just used that, but in the case of user defined methods i want to point out the exact code
suppose i have a method "SayHello()" in my app, after profiling that will show
classname SayHello() 0.0000002(sec)
This is done successfully, now i want to display the exact code inside the method "SayHello{}"

As the code is run from IL, you can reverse it back into a version of the original (in the same way that Reflector does).
|
|
|

assemblin and disassemblin i already did.
as i said now i want to diplay the exact code.
Can we use PDB for that? to display the code
My small attempt...

Yes the PDB file is the mapping between the IL code and the source file.

|
|
|
|
Yes, you can use the pdb file. The magic word here is the ISymbolReader.

if i am having the source code file with me, can i display the source code using the line info from pdb?
how can i do that?
My small attempt...

I guess you can do that, at least the article I linked in does mention it.
You'll have to do the research, but since you writing a profiling app that shouldn't be so hard for you.
Most of the time you'll get directions here, not complete solutions.

i know i know anyway i will continue the same will post if i get any info

I just delete them.

no problem it will generate when you start the app from IDE

As you see, whenever installing an new software, you must have a license number to register your application.
Now, i have assigned to do that license part in my task but i don't know how to generate a license num or how to make a license checker professionally (in C#). So, anybody can help me this?
|
|
|
|

Well, no-one is going to tell you how they make THEIR license keys, b/c that would let you generate your own. There's all sorts of ways to do it, the simplest is probably a variation on hashing the username, perhaps salting it first.

I think that article's a good start. Though I don't think you'll be using C++. You can choose between C# and VB.Net, whatever you're comfortable with.

Not really relevevant to the specific question, but:
1.) You have a "Shift" key - Don't be afraid of it (Seeing as the only capitals are C#, VB, C++, KB, MSN)
2.) Encrypt your given e-mail address. People can Phish it. Change to something like 5narmon5@gmail.com - And ask people to remove the 5's. (If they DESPERATELY want to e-mail you, they can use your Profile )
Hey - It's a start

Is there something in WPF which would be an equivalent of CustomLineCap in GDI+? How do I implement a custom line ending in WPF? Thanks!

Not much WPF traffic here, but what there is, is mostly in the WPF forum.

Hi,
I have a windows form application. How do you detect if a form is shown within your process. I have no control of other forms that are shown in my application cause some of them are inside a dll.
MyMainForm (exe)
|--> ModuleDLL (dll)
|--> Forms (I have no way to know when they will be shown)
Thanks,
BJ

If you have the source code to the DLL, you could post an event to your main form from the child forms' "Shown" event. However, I can't for the life of me come up with a valid reason that the parent form would want to know when a child form was shown.
However, without knowing the nature of the app *and* the DLL, it would be impossible to comment with any authority.

Thanks for the reply. I have no source code for the DLL. I wanted to know if a form is being shown because I wanted to replace or modify the controls on the form that is being shown (i.e. set a background, change colors of a button).
