If you have a link, putting target="_blank" in the attributes will cause it to open in a new window.

I cant find a property to set the image width or height of an image in the treenode
How can i set it? (if it is possible)
Or do i have to resize the image to the size that i want it and then reference it from the treenode?
I use same images somewehere else and wouldnt like to have the same image in different sizes

I am trying to open a password protected MS Access file on my website using the foloowing code
string cstr = @"Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=C:\uploadtest\WebSite1\data\Data.mdb;Database Password=testing";<br />
OleDbConnection ocon2 = new OleDbConnection(cstr);<br />
ocon2.Open();
This fails with a "Could not find installable ISAM." error.
Is there something I am missing, I have no alternative to using a password protected MS Access data file in this process.

Hello all,
As far as I have seen in google, this is a very commom problem, but I can't make it work.
I have a webservice that access a com dll. It used to work fine in another computer, but now, when I try to instaciate a class from this dll, I get this error:
Server was unable to process request. --> Access is denied.
I already have disabled the indexing service, added aspnet, iusr_machineName to the folder's permissions, but nothing seems to work.
Anybody has any ideas?

Are you sure the Com dll is registered ? Perhaps that's the generic error you get when the dll won't start ?

I have a ModalPopupExtender whose TargetControlID points to an <asp:HyperLink /> control:

On the popup, there is an image of an "X"; this is the CancelControlId.
There is also a "Don't show me this popup again" checkbox, which writes a cookie to the user's machine when checked.
What I want to happen during the OnCancelScript (fired when the user clicks the "X", of course) of the ModalPopupExtender is this:
If the user has checked the "Don't show me again" checkbox, then the ModalPopupExtender will be "detached" from the hyperlink so that if/when the user clicks on it again, the user is NOT shown the popup and they are directed straight to Default.aspx.
I looked through the source code, and it doesn't look like there is a "disabled" property on the MPE. It looks like the only solution involves removing event handlers from the button, but I'm not exactly clear on how to do that. I suppose I could also hook into the showing event and do a JavaScript redirect, but I would rather not do that; seems like a kludge.
Any tips?

As far as I'm aware, there isn't a way to truly disable the popup, other then using the $clearHandlers[^] method on the button itself. The downside to this is that you'd have to do it on any postback operation (including an async postback run through an UpdatePanel). Detaching the event also suffers from a bit of tricky timing in a postback scenario, as you're in a race with the modal extender trying to attach the event.
The ModalPopupExtender does have a client-side API which exposes a showing event that can be trapped, and cancelled. This will allow you to stop the popup from showing itself, although, the event will still be triggered on each click of the button. For example, the following was my quick prototype:

I have been little out of touch with ASP.NET AJAX. But as far as I can recall,
You can always detach the behavior from the HyperLink control. You can do something like this:

h.dispose();
where ModalPopupExtenderID is the client of of you extender. Alternatively you can use Sys.UI.Behavior.getBehaviorByType function to retrieve the behavior and then you can dispose it. Disposing it will automatically remove the behavior and free the event handlers.

I hadn't thought of that. Its a great approach, and very clean. I like it.
I do want to point out that you'd need to run this code for every async postback performed by an UpdatePanel anywhere on the page. The client-side page manager will reinitialize all script components on the page each time an UpdatePanel refreshes. Obviously, this would also have to be repeated on every standard postback.

In your opinion, what is the best way to implement searching / filtering on an sqldatasource? Right now i have my datasource linked to a gridview. I use the FilterExpression property and assign is a "LIKE %" expression, and FilterParamerters which are control parameters.
I have a feeling that there is a better way to do this more efficiently, and securely (beware sql injections).
Any suggestions ?

That's a rather broad question for a reasonable answer on a forum. I'd recommend that you start by getting Framework Design Guidelines[^], authored by Brad Abrams and Krzysztof Cwalina of Microsoft's CLR team. While you're waiting for that to arrive, start reading through some results from Google[^].

Hi guys,
I've just started a new ASP.NET application and this time we're using SQL Server 2005, I've normally uses MySQL with the .NET Connector (a membership and role provider for MySQL).
And when I'm looking at the tables generated by the membership provider there's one table I don't recognize: the dbo.aspnet_Paths table. It has three columns (ApplicationId, PathId, Path, and LoweredPath).
So, what is that normally used for?
I've tried to google for it and so forth, but without any luck.

Its used for personalization. This entry[^] from Microsoft describes them in the context of Web Parts personalization, but if memory serves me correctly, I believe they are also used for other personalization that is not bound to the user profile.

Thanks for your answer. You know, I did had the hunch that that's that they were for, since there's also two Personalization tables. Oh well we're not gonna use WebParts so I can simply ignore them - I just like to knows what's in my database.

Hi,
Is it possible to add a ValidatorCalloutExtender in a Composite control?
The problem I have is that I can add the control, but I can't access the TargetControlID. Has anyone solved this or know what is causing this problem.
The same problem applies to the ConfirmButtonExtender control.

Find the solution myself. The error was caused by the missing reference System.Web.Extensions. To be able to access the TargetControlID property that reference need to be in the project.

How can I find the id of the row I am on in the gridview
previously I had a hyperlink so I could just use something like this:
NavigateUrl='<%# "page.aspx?variable=" + Eval("datafield")
but now I need to do it in the c# on the click event
