Are you using a separate thread to delete the files ? If no, then if this process is quite long, your UI won't respond to any messages anymore (which means that it is frozen and not updated so, you don't see the files removed from the list ctrl).
You have to do that in a worker thread and messages to your window when a file has been deleted. Handle this message in your dialog class and upon receiving it, remove the entry from the list control.
Another point: is the delete of these files that long ? Because in general it doesn't take a lot of time to delete a file, so even with a thread, chances are that it will be too fast to see something.

If it's a COM dll you've got to register it, that how it works! CoCreateInstance, Shell extensions etc work via entries found in windows registry which are made only when you register a COM dll.
If not no need to register!

Ordinary DLLs don't need registration. On the other hand COM DLLs (e.g. ActiveX components) need it (technically is even possible using COM DLL's without registration, neverthless registration is by far the most common way).

Hi Experts,
I am using CMainFrame::OnClose(); function in any other function to close the application as soon as processing gets complete.
Program generating exception after closed. If I manually close the aplication Its fine.
Is this correct methos to close the application like this....

Closing the application from inside a function is not common way.
If you want to do this necessarily how about PostQuitMessage[^] or exit(0);

If your application is related to OLE then you can use COleDocument class to get Doc/View architecture support of MFC.

I need to change the static IP address of a machine programatically.I tried to change the IP at Registry location , HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces. But this change is taking effect only after restart of the computer. Is there any method to change IP without restart of the computer ? I tried AddIpAddress() function it shows some problem in version compatibility. I am using Visual C++ 6.0.
