Well, I checked the database folder and I gave read/write permissions to my account but I still have the problem.Now I dont knw what to do.
Im on asp by the way, not asp.net.

The same thing applies to ASP; it's not your user account that is used to run the ASP code.
Check the settings for the web site in IIS manager to find out what user account is used to run the application.
Despite everything, the person most likely to be fooling you next is yourself.

Well, IIS is not a problem.The site runs perfectly from IIS, but we just posted the site onto the new ISP FTP folder and its doing this.

Files that you upload to the ISP normally isn't writable by the account running the ASP code. An ISP that supports Access usually has a pre-created folder especially for database files, that has the appropriate security settings.

I am doing an application in which i need to validate some fields..I did it using Javascript, but i dont want alert box to pop up each time as it may be harassing the user to enter as he wish....
Instead of alert box can i have some other pleasing error throwing messages pop ups or texts to be in the page....
If possible please let me know.....and how to implement it.....

Are you using ASP.NET?? Then you can use Validation Controls provided by .NET

I am aware of this and i am using ASP.NET. I tried Validation controls and AJAX ASP .NET controls also.
The problem is i am using a third party tool Infragistics to implement Grid and Tabs. Inside the Tab comes all these controls. No post back occurs and when using these ASP.NET controls, on Submit click it checks for all the validators and shows the error. The problem is i am using a single button, if it wud have been 2 buttons then cause validation would have worked...
So I implemented javascript, but dont like to have an alert box popping up always and saying Enter Number only or Text only....

Why not keep small div's near the controls to validate and set their innerHTML with the error mesage using javascript ?.. It should gice a similar feeling og ASP.net validation controls.

Hello there.
I have a folder stored procedure that is suppose to create a few folders and when requested display all those folders on the pages its requested on.It works fine but the problem arises when I post the page on the server.The folder names come out invisible, or the font doesn't show.That is the same problem as my forum page.The font shows properly on the local computer's IIS, but when I post the page onto the main server the font changes to invisible.
What could be wrong.
Help appreciated in advance.

Check your styles. Obviously you're setting your text to be the same color as the background ?

No sir.I dont think so because, the changes only happen when I post the pages onto the server but on the local host the changes dont happen.Two pages that request the same thing.The color problems only happen when I post the changes on the server but not on the local host.

Then there is something different between the two ( and it's probably a CSS file ). Your pages don't recolor themselves, they do it in response to CSS. If the page looks different from the server, then there's something different about the files on the server, or the server configuration.

Hi Friends,
My requirement is something like this.
I have a button in my page which invokes a Stored Procedure in the back end. The Stored Procedure is a huge one and takes a whole 3-4 mins to run.
What I want is to show that progress in a progressbar in the front end. I can calculate the percentage that has to be shown there, the question is how to make it work?
I tried using a TimerControl tool and wrote codes in its Tick event, but as soon as the Stored Procedure starts running, the control is lost and the tick event is not invoked. Can anyone plz help me? In a sorry state right now, trying to find the solution.

Your only option really is to use AJAX to make the stored procedure call. Then your page can do whatever it likes, otherwise, the page disappears while the server request is being made.
