Hi all,
I have made a TreeView, it displays everything I want. Now I have set:
"OnSelectedNodeChanged", to fire my event "SelectNode". Now the event works fine, however it posts back to the page (reloads the page). Is there a way that I can rather just call a JavaScript function, rather than have to reload the entire page?
For example, I click a TreeNode, I would like to pass the TreeNode.Value to a JavaScript function, without reloading the page.

Hi All,
I hope this is not the wrong forum for my question, and if it is I apologize. I went out and got me an external hard drive so that I can install VS2005 on it. I figured it would be a cheaper alternative to buying a laptop, and it would allow me to take the external HDD any where and run VS2005 on most any machine. In order to install and run programs in VS2005 such as ASP.NET, VB2005, etc. on the external HDD, must I install an operating system on the external HDD? Has anyone ever done this? I've read that this can not be done, but just to find out if that is the absolute truth, I've decided to post this question. Thank you in advance for your response.

Good afternoon,
I'm attempting to create an ASP.NET website that has two horizontal frames. A top frame will be a frame that loads back data from 6 sql stored procedures and dumps them into datagrids. The bottom frame will contain several buttons, listboxes, and other user interaction controls.
The problem I'm having is that I want the user controls in the bottom frame to load first so that the user can use them while the queries run one by one in the top and fill out the scoreboard.
I have tried both an inline frame (using one for the top section) and normal frames, but I can't get them to do what I'm looking for. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Since they are in frames they should load independently of each other, as long as the target pages are different. What behavior are you seeing?

What I'm seeing is that the top frame (which runs a sql stored procedure in it's page load event) remains blank along with the bottom frame. When the data grid comes back in the top frame, the test button appears in the bottom frame. This takes around 10-15 seconds, which is consistant with how long I expect the stored procedure to take.
I had expected the button in the bottom frame to pop up immediately and have that frame be usable while the top frame continued to wait for the sql data to come back.

I will look into AJAX...it's something I've never used before. Do you know any good places to start? Most of my asp.net programming has focused on doing as little as possible on the html side and as much as possible on the VB Code behind.

Another possibility may be to be to load the top page empty, so the bottom will also load, then immediately kick off a postback on the top to load the data.

Hey all,
I've recently jumped onto ASP.NET (normally code in PHP). I'm doing the C# flavour, if that makes much difference.
I have created a class like this:

Which has been placed inside the "App_Code" folder. Now on my ASPX page, I have this:

Now, inside the "PopulateNode" function, I can use TreeNode2, no problem. But how would I go about replacing "<asp:TreeNode..." with "<asp:TreeNode2..." ?

Create you own TreeView control. Seriously. Do a quick lookup of server controls like TreeView and how child elements are created.

I had a look around, and I found some source code for all these different AJAX TreeView Controls, but I didn't manage to find any information for what I want to do. Would it be worth me taking some time, picking apart one of the AJAX TreeView controls to find out how to do what I want, or is that just a regular TreeView with AJAX functionality?
I don't really want a whole new TreeView, I only want to be able to bind additional information to each TreeNode, and later on, try add some AJAX functionality.

AJAX has nothing to do with it, it is client-side, TreeView is a server control.
If all you want is a little extra info, like an id, then use the value property of the TreeNode

I need to add two bits of information, but I suppose I could concatenate that into the value field, thanks for the tip.
As for the AJAX, I'm aware that it's client, and not server, I was just unsure if the examples I found on the web would just modify the existing control to run on AJAX, or if they made a brand new control, which also made use of AJAX.
At any rate, I think I can solve this one with the Value field, and move from there.

Hi,
I am facing a problem with grid header. I have a screen with multiple grids in it. The screen is too huge, so I have a a scrollbar in the screen. I also have a vertical scrollbar in each grid too.
The problem is that, when I make grid header's position: relative, grid header gets fixed when I scroll using grid's scrollbar, which is good. But when I scroll using screen's scrollbar, the everything moves except the grid's header.
If I make position:absolute, and scroll using screen's scrollbar, the header also scrolls, but when I scoll using grid scrollbar, the header also moves along with the grid's row.
Please help me fix this issue.
