Cloud you help me please.I will describe the problem.It seens stupid but i did not use VS from 1 year and just now start it again.
So we have GridView inside of it are templates for example label and text box for edit mode which are connected with some db.So the problem is appear when i try to update that data exactly in updating event.After pressing update button in quick watch i see that it is give me old value not what i had change ready!!!For example in label value is 1 and when you press button edit in text box is 1 too but my goal is to be changed to 2 so in text box value is changed to 2 but after pressing of bot ton the value which is extract is 1???Pleas cloud you tell me some body why.Unfortunately the at the moment i am not in-front of my pc but let try the code.

And result is 1;
Please tell me why
Now the project on which i work it use net.3.5 can you explain me if there is some changes and why if i catch the text box the value is old one not the value which i already type on it.

So far the control implementation by Infragistics looks to be the best control out there. Does anyone have a favorite that is not Infragistics? I've cruised through articles here and I need some that is all the way tuned out that I can style using CSS and such. I am doing a quick and dirty site for someone and they don't want to spend a lot of money and I don't want to reinvent the wheel for something that there are at least 3 decent ones I've run across.
Is there a scheduling control out there you like more than Infragistics and if so what is it?
John Cardinal I am pretty sure you have used Infragistics right? Have you used this control and do you have any comments?

Scheduling... You mean like a datepicker control? ...Or something like an Outlook/Google Calendar appointment book?

"I am doing a quick and dirty site for someone" - If you are willing to wind of the task in a cheaper way - use javascipt calender control which you can find at many places on the net and when the user selects a date get the date into a text field and the task on that date into another store them into db for future ref.,

Hello. The Requested URL cannot display your website because the files arent there. The files in the Physical Path: E:\TestWeb should be uploaded to the server, then the website will show. However, the IIS server must be running.

Hi All...
Can any body say how can we ajaxify the exsiting VB.Net Site?
We need a timer that ticks for every second....but the page is flickering for every second...
we know we can solve it in C#...
but how can we in VB?

1 - there's an ASP.NET forum
2 - if you can do it in C#, of course you can do it in VB.NET. Just make the syntax ugly
3 - what sort of timer do you need ? Your question makes no sense. A timer can be run in javascript, without any AJAX, unless it then needs to contact the server, and if it does, I don't see why it should flicker, it would flicker if you had a js timer that refreshes the page, obviously, but that's not AJAX.

As Christian Graus suggested, you should post this question in ASP.NET.
There is ASP.NET Ajax Timer control. You can use it with UpdatePanel in your site. But you need to learn more about ASP.NET Ajax..

The problem is i need an asp.net ajax timer in my website....
I am developing this website using vb.net...as al we know we cannot stop the page flickering(in normal asp.net website)unless we use Ajax...
so i wanted to ajaxify my website...
so i drag n dropped Update panel,timer,Script manager n label to do this n i have also written the required code in TIMER TICK event....
here comes my problem...
the page is again flickering as if it flickers for a normal asp.net page...
I also have added all the assemblies that are required for my asp.net web.config file from an asp.net ajax web.config file...
I did the same for C#...Worked out then... 
Help me out plzz....

If you're updating major portions of the page every second, the page will change/flicker every second. It doesn't particularly matter if you're using AJAX or not. AJAX is useful for avoiding full-page updates, by updating only the bits that actually change.
Trust us - get a book. You'll save yourself a lot of time and frustration.

I have written a vb module to send out an email to various email ids. The content of the email is in html. For some reason for some users the format is coming out different even though the same content was sent to everyone. For instance there are a couple of html tables part of the content that are centered. Some users see some tables as centered and some left aligned while others recieve all centered. What is causing this? Everyone is using MS Outlook.

Perhaps the installed IE version ? It would not surprise me if Outlook uses IE to render HTML mail.

Outlook 2007 uses Word to render HTML emails (by default anyway). Presumably because Outlook also uses Word to create HTML emails, and... well, we both know what happens when you use Word to output HTML.
Not that this helps Civic.

dude...this forum isn't a chat room. ...This thread makes absolutely no sense without someone going and reading your previous threads. That means: delete this thread. ...Then go delete the duplicate thread that you posted and be a little patient. ...Someone might answer your question, but most people are probably either still at work or still on Christmas vacation...you might be waiting a little bit. Besides that simple fact, your original question (if I remember correctly) requested code to do something that wasn't working for you...you didn't provide much of an explanation as to where the problem was arising....you haven't asked anyone to analyze your logic...you basically are requesting the community to be an outsourcing solution. That won't work, and if you really are wanting help, you're going to want to go delete all of your posts on this topic, repost with more explanation as to what approaches you've tried to fix your own problem, and rather than say what is tantamount to

you might want to ask for help on WHAT you need to do, not HOW to do it and if you still have problems figuring out HOW to do it, come in and follow up with your new problems...just a little advice, you're not going to get an answer if you don't do what I suggested.

Adobe provides these html files that serve as templates in which you embed your shockwave (SWF) files. The html files will have javascript sections that do things like check for the correct version of the flash player.
In this html file, in both the html and javascript sections of it, you'll find constructions like the following:
<param name="movie" value="${swf}.swf" />
<title>${title}</title>
width="${width}" height="${height}"
The ${...} - what is that? I was thinking it was referencing query string parameters from the URL, but then I read that html can't access query string params, only javascript can. Is it just pseudocode, indicating you should specify a title at a given point (or width or whatever).
Is it true you can't access query string parameters with pure HTML? Is it reasonable to assume that javascript will be enabled on virtually any browser your app is running on.
(Couldn't get these questions answered in the flash forums and their culture is very different - very protective of any info they have.)
