Hello everybody,
I am vs2003 to develop my application. I created a web application. In that in one page I inserted data to a table. In another page I have to retrieve the values based on the date values. I write the following codings for that

replace the above code with
Dim adp As New OleDb.OleDbDataAdapter("select * from auditfinding where auditdate = " + "'" + dates + "'", conn)

I do have the following structure.
I have an page (SamplePage.aspx). In this page is some stuff. At the top there are some filter elements which can be used to filter the list below.
The list is build with an <asp:repeater>.
So, because there are many other elements on this side it takes a little to make a complete server roundtrip and to build up the hole page again. If the user changes the filter I want only to reload the list.
So my idea is to use a webservice call, to generate the HTML for the table again.
How can I do that. My first idea was to put the repeater into an user control and to load the user control dynamically from the web service method with
Dim oPage As New CPageBase
oUC = oPage.LoadControl("SampleUC.ascx)
But if I do so, the created object is not completely initialized. The "Application" variable of oUC and oPage is Nothing. But I can see in debugger, that the Application in my webservice method is set correctly.
Do you have any ideas how to make that working. Or do I have the wrong beginning.

Have you looked at the ASP.net AJAX extensions?

I am using .Net 1.1 and I think the extensions are only available for .Net 2.0 and higher.
I have no change to migrate to a newer .Net version now.
Is it also possible to make this with .Net 1.1?

the way to do this is to put a hidden field in your page, set it's value with javascript, then read it on the server.
Or you could redirect to the current page, but put the variable name and value on the URL

Yet another idea would be to use cookies (set from JavaScript and read in ASP.NET). I would do the hidden field, though.

hi... i am designing a toolbox as like visual studio toolbox with some controls in it....
i have designed a panel too... now i need a control can be fixed in the toolbox panel...
the control that i am trying to add(inside the toolbox panel) should have drag and drop funcionality....
please advise me which control i can use inside the toolbox panel....
no tree view control suggesions plz..... my application look and feel should be same like visual stiod's.....
the control which i need should support image and name field and should have drag and drop options..
i am using 2.0/3.0 framework...

Hi Friends,
i have two dropdowns- one to fill Country Names from Country table and the other one fills the State Names from State table
CountryId is foreign key in State table
When i select the Country name from country dropdown i want to fill States of that country in state dropdown.
this is my query
"select State_Id,State_name from State where country_id ='" & ddlCountry.selectedValue & "'"
How to do this in AJAX in ASP.Net application

I assume you are using AJAX toolkit. If so put your dropdowns inside update panel.

Hi,
put your both Dropdown in Update Panel and Set Autopost back property true for first Dropdown.
