I have a strange problem that only happens with IE. Other browsers do not exhibit this problem and it seems to be because of caching.
I am displaying a video and it plays just fine when the page is first loaded. If I refresh the page the rendering stops just after the masthead image is rendered and the rest of the page doesn't get rendered.
If I go in to internet options and delete files the page works again for the first time but if I refresh it the rendering stops again after the masthead.
I tried not caching the page, both using meta tags and HTML headers and this doesn't fix the problem.
Below is the code I am using.
<br />
<?php<br />
header("Expires: Mon, 26 Jul 1997 05:00:00 GMT");<br />
header("Cache-Control: no-cache");<br />
header("Pragma: no-cache");<br />
?><br />
<br />
<meta http-equiv="Pragma" content="no-cache" /><br />
<meta http-equiv="Cache-Control" content="no-cache" /><br />
<meta http-equiv="Expires" content="Mon, 26 Jul 1997 05:00:00 GMT"><br />
I don't know anything else to try. Does anyone have any idea why IE would be caching the page in spite of headers saying not to?
The website is WebNationVideo.com

I have an asp file linked to a html file with the following code:
<%
Dim rs, conn
set conn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.connection")
set rs = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset")
conn.Provider="Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0"
conn.Open(Server.Mappath("obesity.mdb"))
age = request("age")
gender = request("gender")
height = request("height")
weight = request("weight")
waist = request("waist")
sqlstring = "Insert INTO User ([Age], [Gender], [Height], [Weight], [Waist]) Values(" & age & ",'" & gender & "'," & height & "," & weight & "," & waist & ")"
rs.Open sqlstring, conn
sqlstring = "Select * From User Order By age"
rs.Open sqlstring, conn
Response.Write "<TABLE BORDER=0><TR><TD width=100><u><strong>age</strong></u></TD><TD width=100><u><strong>Gender</strong></u></TD><TD width=100><u><strong>Height</strong></u></TD><TD width=100><u><strong>Weight</strong></u></TD><TD width=100><u><strong>Waist</strong></u></TD></TR><TR>"
while not rs.EOF
Response.Write "<TD width=100>" & rs("age") & "</TD>"
Response.Write "<TD width=100>" & rs("gender") & "</TD>"
Response.Write "<TD width=100>" & rs("height") & "</TD>"
Response.Write "<TD width=100>" & rs("weight") & "</TD>"
Response.Write "<TD width=100>" & rs("waist") & "</TD>"
Response.Write "</TR>"
rs.MoveNext
wend
Response.Write "</TABLE>"
rs.Close
%>
When ever i execute this however it comes up with the following error message:
Microsoft JET Database Engine (0x80040E14)
Syntax error in INSERT INTO statement.
If anyone can spot where I'm going wrong can you let me know. The table in the database looks as follows:
Age - number
Gender - text
Height - number
Weight - number
Waist - number
Thank You

Ok... that took me about three seconds to spot...
User is a reserved keyword. Either rename the table, or use brackets around the name in the query: [User].

thanks man feel so stupid for that now.

Heh... This has tripped me up again and again, but i still refuse to name the tables i keep user info in anything else. It represents users, dammit.

Recheck your insert query and you may want to learn about preventing sql injection attacks.

how we can connect asp.net pages to msaccess using c# language

You won't get any good answers to a general question like that. Start by searching[^], try to put something together, and come back and ask if you have any problems with that.

You really should read up on this. Try using the data source wizard for starters...

This is a common question. Search Google for regular expressions and HTML tags and you'll find plenty of examples.

I think you're asking how to wrap long lines of text, which is an old web problem. There's no 'nice' way of doing this just yet, but you can use a variety of browser-specific CSS styles to achieve it: white-space

I'm trying to store a lengthy text in a table using oracle9i. I tried long datatype for the same. but when i tried to display the text using "select", it displays only 80 chars. Please help.......
|
|
|
|
|
How come you want to store the characters in long datatype? it's not possible. If you want to store the lengthy text then you can use nvarchar() for that.
Anyway, you are in wrong forum..

Hi can anyone tell me is there web site already built we can use free or do we all need to reinvent the wheel? i m looking for code to run a dating site .
thankyou

I guess the main question is, if you're going to run some generic code, won't you be running a dating site that is exactly the same as 100s of other ones ? I doubt such code exists, in any case, not in the public domain. More generic code probably exists which you could modify.

For some reason, no value is getting put into the text file I'm trying to create. Have tried numerous things, just shows up as a blank, as if the select box is empty, but it does have a value in it! if i remove the .value it displays [object] so i know its at least recognizing as an object. Please help this is for a school final project!
I left out a lot of unnecessary code, if you think i left out something important let me know. Thank you all for your help.
function send() {
f = document.form // Make a form variable
e = f.email.value // define email variable
c = f.MWc1.value
alert ("email is: " + c)
var fso = new ActiveXObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject");
var s = fso.CreateTextFile("C:\Users\Matt\Desktop", true);
s.WriteLine(" test ");
s.WriteLine(c);
s.Close();
return true;
}
....etc. etc...
