Hi All,
I'm creating a webpage, in that it wont reload the image again and again it is possible.
like all my page have header and footer images.
if i go from page 1 to page 2, the already download image should be used.
instead of getting new image....
same for CSS also
plz help me out

If you want an area to remain static, you need to put it in a frame. The downside is, your page URL will not change and your pages will not be bookmarkable.
Having said that, I'd expect the images and the CSS to be coming from your cache in any case.

i think some way is there to say always pick from cache,
if not found in cache then only it should get from the serevr....

I have a website with a popup full screen window. In a normal IE window, if an image loads that's bigger than the screen, IE resizes it and gives me an icon to resize and show scroll bars. My fullscreen popup is not doing that, what can I do to make it ?

Works for me (on IE6...)
Are you specifying the image URL directly, or are you perhaps loading a page with an <img> tag? 'Cause, the latter won't do the resizing thing (of course, nothing's stopping you from linking to the image directly from the image).

Ah... See, I am not just showing an image, it's full screen, so I am also showing a 'close' link and an img tag, for people who don't know how to close the window. I see the point of difference now. If I want to go fullscreen, and therefore to show a way to close the window, I'm basically hosed, right ?

Well, no. You just aren't gonna get the default little "maximize" button floating over the image. Personally, i think that UI sucks anyway.
If you want a good way of letting them blow up the image, either overlay a set of zoom controls when they move the mouse over it (fancy-glitzy-fiddly-web2.0ish)
...or just take the easy way out and make clicking the image toggle between scaled and full-sized (presumably you know or can know the actual size of the image, but even if you can't an img tag will automatically display it full-sized in the absence of any specified width and height (attributes or styles) - so use that to your advantage). Throw in a title="click to enlarge" and you'll have a spiffy new Web 1.57-ish UI for zooming your image. And, just maybe, some undesirable hotlinks from porn search engines.

*grin* the issue is, I am going full screen, so the image may or may not fit into that area. As it stands, they have clicked a thumbnail and got a full screen image. I think my best bet is to resize my images to always fit in our target resolution ( 1024x768, the resolution of wussies )

Hmm...
So you're not already scaling the image and worried users might need to see more detail? You're just trying to get the image to "fit"?
If you are able to depend on a bit of JS, you can let the browser scale by picking whichever dimension fits... worst (width if clientWidth-imgWidth < clientHeight-imgHeight, else height) and specifying just that dimension as an attribute on the img tag (most browsers seem to understand that scaling proportionally is a good thing).
Alternately, if you can spare the server horsepower, you can use a bit of script to re-write the img src as the window loads, specifying the available space as query params and letting the server scale to exact dimensions. This looks great, since you can use high-quality scaling algorithm and fill whatever size of window you need. For obvious reasons, it does tend to be slower (although you can cache the most common dimensions). And, of course, you need to have a handler for image requests where otherwise you might get away with letting IIS serve them up raw. YMMV.

Yeah, the idea of having a httphandler that servers the images had occured to me. We have a bit of js flying around, I may go with that option - thanks.

Your question is very vague. Do you get an error message from your code?
If you're using server-side JavaScript then you probably need something like:
Response.Write(" ") ;
You have to be careful with JavaScript because it is case-sensitive.

Hi all,
I'm working on VB.Net 2003 with ASP.Net,in my application i want to place a button and on click of it, it has to show some controls and again on click of the same button the controls which r previously visible show hide (for the same button click). I'm not able to proceed further in this regard so pls help me how to proceed with this situation, if any examples are there it would be more helpful

By writing some code.
All ASP.NET controls inherit from System.Web.UI.Control[^]. The Control class has a Visible property. Handle the button click event and toggle the state of this property for each control to show or hide it.

I have apply the "Visible" property, but on click of the button it is going to show all the controls n again on click of the same button event those controls should not be visible? For example when we post a query in our "CodeProject" Site, by clicking on the question or replies the text will be visible and again on click of the question only the title is visible; hiding the text.
In this similar fashion i want to apply for my application?
So pls help me

Assuming you are using ASP.NET, look at the classes in the System.Net.Mail[^] namespace to learn how to send emails.
