Hello,
This is ravikumar.I have a form Default.aspx.
In code behind(Default.aspx.cs) i have a method. Method is
public void Hello()
{
Response.Write("Hellooooooooooo");
}
I have a user control named User1.I have placed User1 on Default.aspx.In User1.ascx i have placed a button named "print".I wrote nothing in User1.ascx.cs;I wanna call Hello() method when i click on Print Button.
plz help me............

I don't think this is a good way to do so ? Why you need to do this ? Have you tried creating an object for that page and calling the Hello() method ?

yes i tried to create that class object.but it is not allowed.I know this is not good way.In interview this question asked me.try to answer this.

You can have your user control raise an event and then have the page handle that event and call Hello.

I would suggest some reading on the subject of authoring user controls. You can declare an event in your user control which can be handled by any containing page, in much the same way as you can handle the server side click event of any asp button on your page (the button is after all, a user control supplied by MS).

Hi,
I copied an asp.net 1.1 web project from another machine.I want to open that web application in my machine but i am getting the following error
The default Web access mode for this project is set to file share, but the project folder at http://LocalHost/ProjectName cannot be opened with the path 'filepath. The error returned was:
What would you like to do?
Retry using a different file share path
Try to open the project with FrontPage Server Extensions
I have created virtual directory for my application
when i opened my MyApp.UI.csproj.webinfo in vs.net 2003 it is like the following
VisualStudioUNCWeb
Web URLPath = "http://localhost/EEA2.2.5/ MyApp.UI.csproj" /
/VisualStudioUNCWeb
-- modified at 5:25 Monday 5th November, 2007

Did you create the vitual directory on which machine copied your project ?

i did like this
Inetmgr>Default web site>right click>New > Virtual directory>alias name>My folder directory
is this correct or not

Also change the new Virtual Directory path in project solution file.

what is Project solution file
is it Myproject.csproj.webinfo or something else
MyApp.UI.csproj.webinfo is like this

(1) projectName.sln file will be present in your project directory.
(2)Open project solution file file in notepad with edit mode and replace previouse project path with new created virtual directory path as per you post http://localhost/EEA2.2.5GUI/MyApp.UI
Note: Make sure when you create virtual directory alias name and select your project location.

What is the name of your sln file. Name of your sln file and project folder
should be same.

i have one asp page in that i have one datagrid with one checkbox column what i want is when i check some rows and click on submit button i want the values related to that particular checkbox should be transferred to the aspx page ie., .net page. how can i read the values from asp page to the (say textbox control) in .net page
regarding this problem if anybody has solution plz do let me know

You can do one of two things:
1 - pass the values on the URL
2 - impliment some sort of external cache which you can use to store values in asp and then read them back in ASP.NET. I did this once by using a windows service, it worked just fine.

Easy way would be changing the forms method to get, and action to your ASPX page, this will send values automatically through URL.

ASP don't have DataGrid control.

As Christian said, pass it through the URL, or try changing the ASP pages form action to your ASPX page. This will post the data to ASPX page when button is clicked.

I need help I want to add a line to a grid view control and this line must contain the new data to be added to the gridview how can I do that? (the new data will be added by the user.)
and I want to be able to update a bunch of rows that I modify without validating.I'll update them when I click on a button.\

Well, once I have same requirement. What I did is I copied(clone) a row from gridview and added to same gv using Javascript and ICallbackEventHandler.
