"." is the current folder, which means that "./popup.aspx" and "popup.aspx" are equivalent.
".." is the parent folder.
An url starting with "/" is relative to the root of the site, while other urls are relative to the current page.
In server controls you can also use "~", which is the root folder of the application. "~/SomeFolder/popup.aspx" will always produce an url to the same file, regardless if the application is at the web site root or in a folder.

I agree its simple concept. As I indicated in my previous post, I want to access a user control from multiple forms.
It works if I put the user control in the project folder, but then I have to copy the user control to every project folder. Is there a way to put this control in a single location and access it from all forms?

Can you show me the folder structure for your application ? Is your application uses a virtual directory or running directly from wwwroot ?

its using a Virtual Directory.. I have the aspx files in D:\Projects\TestP and dlls in D:\Projects\TestP\bin.

craete a folder from the root called 'mycontrols' and put yoour control in there. Then you can access from any other folder by
"/mycontrols"
or
"~/mycontrols"

Hi all,
I need to assess two types of controls so i can personaly buy one of them. I have done some research on Telerik controls and Intersoft controls. Personaly i sensed from examples without trying them that Telerik is better, may be not better but more user friendly. If some one has been into using one of them, plz give me your comments. I know it is related to everyone's needs and expectations but from your experience with one of them what did u conclude.

I've only used Telerik. They seem OK to me, they do what they claim to.

we have been using Telerik controls, I personally have used only RadGrid. It seems fine, but now company is planning to consider other controls.. they want to have better looking controls!

Hello ,
I am working in asp.net 1.1 ,I am created data grid statically in aspx , but rendering template columns dynamically depends on DataBase values selected from drop down.I am able create txt box ,drop down etc in the template columns , but unfortunately not able to pick values from the control inside the datagrid and not able to retain values during postback.
Pls help to solve this probs.....

I think its because you have created the controls dynamically. Check whether you have given unique names for each control like txtOne,txtTwo etc. Pick the values from the controls at runtime and load them into arraylists. Then it will be possible

Hello Sir,
I am created tempalte columns in the datagrid dynamically with some text box and drop down , i am given unique id also to them, but in data grid there can be more than one row with same control and data grid render its own id like - dg__ctl02_txtAmt.
The thing is that if i am using dgGrid.Items.Count - its shows zero , even though it got more than two rows.

While submitting the page retrieve these values through Javascript and store all the values by making comma separated in the hidden variable and then access those values on server side from hidden variable.
I would like to know one more thing that in Page_Load event whether you have written or not 'If (!IsPostBack)' . If you have not written this condition then there might be the chance that during Page_Load event firing these controls are removed if you are generating the control dynamically. If you put this condition and try to retrieve these controls value with in this condition then you might be able to retrieve it.

hi all
in my application i want a roll over effect. That is when i put my mouse over a image it should change to a different image but when i move my mouse back from the image it should the old image.
