hi,
i am beginner to asp.net and
My problem is
i have to allow the user to save the img file and display the file he had selected and inturn it also should save in db in html format (because i have to save both text and img)
pls do help me
Also after the picture file has been selected that img should be displayed how to proceed

Do you mean upload the file ? If yes you have to store the uploaded file location to the database. Store it as a HTML image tag(<img src='yourimagepath'>). So displaying it on page will show the image you uploaded.

Hook a javascript function for onchange event for the upload control. Inside this get the upload control value and set it to src of an image.

You can't save an image as HTML. You need to download the image itself, and store ether it or a path to it, and your HTML seperately

First date of the week day should be display in txtbox depending on the selection of week no . from the textbox in .net?if we select week no 42 in 2007 then first date of the week should be visible in the text box

use top and left parameter of window.open function for positioning the pop-up.like

This only sets the position the first time the window is opened though. If we are intending to reuse the same window for multiple popups then we will want to relocate the window to the desired location immediately after the window opens instead.
use MoveTo function for that.

we have an old software built using frame wrk 1.1 and vs 2003.now i want to recreate this software using vs2005 fw 2.0 .after making some manipulations the software is running but the database connection is showing some error.here we are having the old software with some modules and a text file contains queries and a database(DAT file )back up file.i have attached these files sql connection module in the solution explorer.but stil while running the program ask for username and pass word ,while giving this it shows "there is no active db connection found."
1.how to reconnect the database?
2.how to get the username and password that is stored in the old database?
3.the connection is set in the config file but i cant locateit also.

the error message is:

this massge comes in a msge box when we r giving username and password .

Many times i came across situations where multiple users updates the same set of records at the same time simultaneously. And i also came across situations while i am selecting a set of 100 records another process should not pick the same set of records.How to Implement this???
Can anyone explain in detail about DB LOCKING and how to retaining DB Integrity..
Whether to apply in Application end while querying or at DB end. And how to test whether LOCKING is implemented or not???

if you want to do atomic operations on db then see "transactions".
But I have never used... Just wanted to say that all i know about them is that they provide u atomic operations

A transaction makes a group of operatons atomic, I don't think it locks the tables in question.

You don't mean a mail server. You mean you want to write a webmail client. Of course, that's actually pretty easy. You do need a mail server through which you can send the mail, and you need to be able to create mail accounts on that server, but those are not ASP.NET tasks.
