i have made a form that can get a kind of search then the user can print it
when i was trying this form in my computer it was working
but when i make deployment and installing it on another computer he gives me this error
could not load file or assembley crystal dedecision .windows form
what should i have to do ??

When your application uses Crystal Reports then you have to include certain other dependencies in the setup project, you can search crystal reports web site for which dependencies to include according to the version of Crystal reports installed in your system. Without including these dependencies crystal reports won't load on the end user's computer.

You don't have to download the Merge Modules required for the Crystal reports to run on the client computer they are available under C:\Program Files\Common Files\Merge Modules\ folder but you have to figure it out which one to use i've used these according to the instructions on their web sites regwiz.msm, VC_CRT.msm, VC_STL.msm and some other at that point of time i was working on VS 2002 which had Crystal Reports built in support. I am creating an application in VB.Net 2005 to retrieve emails from Gmail's POP3 Server for this I used following code -

But I am not able to read that response i.e. System.Text.Encoding.ASCII.GetString(ReadBuffer) I am getting some encoded value (just three boxes)
I also tried

But still I am not getting how to decode that response.
Please tell me how to read that stream.

Well, I haven't done anything like this in quite a long time, but I think the ASCII encoding is what's wrong. Try changing that to UTF7Encoding or UTF8Encoding instead.

i am using .net 2005.i do my project in vb.net windows application.i want to convert rupess into word in india format.
for ex,
there are 2 textbox named as num1textbox,num2textbox and one button named as convertbutton.
if i enter "6819811" in num1textbox then i click convert button means must be automatically display as "Rupees sixty eight lakhs ninteen thousand eight hundred and eleven only" in num2 textbox.how to do this in vb.net.i want in windows application not web application.

That's irrelevant. You need to write code to parse the number and turn it into a string, and that code doesn't care where the string will be rendered.
No-one is going to write this for you. Think about what it does, and try to write it yourself. Ask again if you get stuck.

That is pointless information. The code to do the conversion should NEVER be in the presentation layer. It should be in its own class.

i have cretaed an application using odbcConnection, when i m running this exe from the network it is showing odbcpermission error. plz can any body help me to solve this thru coding in vb .net?
i do not want to use manual setting thru .NET Framework wizard.

Any managed code running from a non-local source (read: any network source, trusted or not) is NOT trusted by default. In order to run code from a network source, you MUST understand Code Access Security[^]. It's a must read for any applicaiton actually, but becomes so much more important when running from an untrusted source.

I am trying to take a image and zoom/pan to fit a template (something overlaying the image(and preferably and image itself with transparency)) and then crop what is inside the template area. I have tried using the picturebox control and system.drawing to gain the effect but cannot get it to work for me.
any ideas?

1) Zoom/Pan an image
2) Making an image transparent
3) Crop the image area.
Now could you please clarify in which operation you need help or what is that you are not able to achieve.

Forget the picture box. Draw the image on your form yourself, in your paint event handler. The rest should be easy, if not, ask more specific questions.

Hi, I'm not sure whether this question should be post in asp.net forum or windows vista forum or this this forum. Current I have an old laptop which is running windows xp professional with IIS installation. I used Vs 2005 to develop an asp.net website in my laptop.
Now i plan to purchase a new laptop but it is not windows xp professional. The new laptop that i plan to purchase is windows vista home premium edition. What i want to know is whether windows vista premium edition has an IIS which is support for asp.net development or not? If vista home premium has IIS like winxp pro, then it won't have any problem for me to continue my web application development.

I'm not sure, but I don't think so. Visual Studio 2005 has a built in web server, so you don't need IIS to develop.

Anyway, the answer to your question is yes. You can install IIS 7 by changing the Windows components in Control Panel.

You didn't state this in your original post. Anyway, the VB forum is for questions that specifically relate to VB(.NET). Your question was of a more general nature; it would have been more appropriate to have asked it in the ASP.NET or General Discussion forums. Posting your question in the right forum will greatly increase its chance of being answered.

Guffa, right. VS2005 comes with a mini web server already, so you really don't need IIS. The only thing you would need it for is if your using IIS specific features.
But, the other poster is also correct. It doesn't matter what language you write your ASP.NET app in, it's STILL an ASP.NET app and should have been posted in that forum. The actualy language has very little to do with just about any ASP.NET question.
