Use Response.Redirect and pass the value of TextBox as QueryString to the next page and in the next page Use Request.QueryString to retrieve it.

Page-1
Reponse.Redirect("Page2.aspx?value=" + TextBox1.Text)

Page-2

Dim txtValue as String<br />
txtValue = Request.QueryString("value")

'QjeryString' is it a typo or u gave it aa QjeryString?
querystring is the correct name and u shud call as querystring[] not querystring() if in C#.

iam having a dropdown list in which i defined 1to12 numbers .if users wants more than 12 number how i can allow user to enter the number he wants in the dropdown list.and also using javascript how we can get the user entered value.

You can have an item in the dropdownlist saying "Add More value". On selection of that Item, display a textbox and Button. On the click of the Button write a javascript which will add the entered value to the DropDownList.

On my dev box I have MS Word installed and all my interop stuff through ASP.NET / C# works a treat. I now have to implement on the client's IIS box and realised they don't have MS Word on theirs. They have a corporate licence, so that isn't an issue, but what do I need to install as a minimum to create MS word docs? Do I have to install MS Word as a whole, or can I just do the PIA?

I am googling for this, but if anybody has experience of this before it would be a help.

[edit] I have to install MS Word, so I have, but now getting Insufficient memory diskspace to display font error.  There is 54Gb HD space free and 2G Ram after clean reboot.  Shed loads of KB articles on this, but none seem to apply.  Buggers.  Another late night.. [/edit]

Still, it gets into addDelegateImageButton_Click(object sender, ImageClickEventArgs e) function.

How do I make it get into the addDelegateImageButton_Click function only if ValidateDelegFn returns true?

I have been tyin to learn asp.net 2.0 going on 4 months now. I have tried to build several online photo albums with no success. I have tried to find a teacher...no success. Can anyone get me going in the right dirrection.

Did you already did c# or vb.net development? if you have, then you know about 80% of the asp.net development. Then i recommencd an online video training. But that comes with price, or if you know how to get it.

Are you woried about skinfile, Cascading Style Sheet or javascript=

'did' cannot be used with past for eg: 'did u asked' is absolutely wrong.it shud be 'did u ask'. I used to go with this same mistake too often till someone who made a change in my life pointed out the exact issue.thats how we can learn,i guess.

1. you can use javascript setTimeout to call a function to post back automatically after a set time. or
2. you can add a meta tag for refresh=time

afaik, the client (browser) has no way to know if the data has changed on the server (database) unless you go post back the page to the server.

in the head section of asp page type this

setTimeout(postbackPage, 60000); // call postbackPage after 1 minute

function postbackPage() {
// submit the form
document.formname.submit();
// OR you can call click event of submit button
document.submitbutton.click();
}

in that case you have to use AJAX, if you know AJAX then convert your page to AJAX enabled page otherwise whole page has to be refreshed.
