And returning the value from Main doesn't work either?

After reading the KB, it seems it only applies to processes that get killed and don't reach the return.

change your batch command to
start /wait %path_to_your_exe% to get the right %errorlevel%

Hello,

I have a tool that creates a word document using C#. To do this, I used the MS Word 11.0 Object Library. Now I tried installing the application on the local of a colleague of mine but he is unable to create an MS Word doc and is prompting an error. I need help in knowing the requirements (I can't seem to find the right keywords to search for it on google.)

Here are some of my questions:
- Should the same MS Word version be installed on the user's pc, or will a different version work?
- Should it be the same edition? (Like Professional or Small Business edition)
- Should the .Net Programmability Support be installed for the MS Word of the user's local? Or is this only needed by the developer to have access to the 11.0 Object library?
- Any other useful information?

i would like to know if ther is a way to integrate a form within a form
so that i can move it around inside the "Fahter" form and so on...
if u can point me to an example or an article that will be great.

No, your internal form should be developed as a user control. You can then put that control onto another empty form to make it appear as it's own dialog.

But The UserControl do not have a ControlBox ...

Do u mean a form inside a form like a panel inside a form...or else do u want popup another form on a button click event of the parent form?

Hello,

Yes, it is possible;

By setting the 'TopLevel' property of the SubForm to 'false'.
Then you can Add the SubForm to the MainForm.Controls.

//Inside MainForm
Form SubForm = new Form();
SubForm.TopLevel = false;
this.Controls.Add(SubForm );
SubForm.Show();

By setting the TopLevel property to false, it is no more possible to call the form modal with ShowDialog.

A second possibility is the IsMdiContainer

//Inside MainForm
this.IsMdiContainer = true;
SubForm.MdiParent = this;
this.Controls.Add(SubForm);
SubForm.Show();

i am using an oledbcommand object to perform both insert and update based on the command text supplied and i am adding the parameters for update also in the order of insert. So incase of update though, its not giving any error/exception but database is not getting updated.

Can any body pls tell me how to resolve this or any other way to implement both the functionalities using single method.

You need to specify either the parameters by name ( in any order ), or pass them in the order that a stored proc you're calling requires them ( although I suspect you're using the nasty 'dynamic SQL in the presentation layer' stuff here )

OleDb doesn't support named parameters. You have to specifiy them in the exact order they appear in the SQL statement. Well, you can give them names all you want, they won't do anything...

Yet another reason why I never use Access anymore.

I've found that naming them allows the use of a parameter value multiple times in the statement.

And is it an OleDb thing or a Jet Engine thing?

I never bothered to figure that one out. I'm guessing that since you can't do it in VA code in Access either that the "problem" would be tied to Jet, but I could be wrong.

Hi!

I have a property grid and I set to its SelectedObject an instance of a class. This class has some properties which I don't want to be displayed in the property grid. Is there an attribute to set before those properties to make PropertyGrid to ignore them?

and if this is not enough (for example if you have no access to the source code of your target instance), you can define a Type descriptor that will filter the unwanted properties. See this article[^].

use treeview1.nodes[0].add()....but a treeview can have child nodes recursively so how do you want to show the obtained rows in treeview ?
