First off, i'd like to thank you for trying to help me out with my problem.
I am not sure if i made it clear enough what i want to do.
I know how to create an entry in the web.config, as you showed in your reply. What i want to do is to edit it "on-the-fly" from a web administration.
e.g., ticking a checkbox should make it say
<location path="subFolder">
<system.web>
<authorization>
<allow users="?"/>
</authorization>
</system.web>
</location>
and ticking it again, make it:
<location path="subFolder">
<system.web>
<authorization>
<deny users="?"/>
</authorization>
</system.web>
</location>
i hope that i have maded myself more clear now, and hope that yout can help?

If your web site is .net 2.0 there are some things that you can do with a web.config. The downside is the work it takes to get the web.config to reload and see your changes and the fact that re-loading the web.config will re-start the site which will affect everyone currently logged in. I would say your time is probably better spent elsewhere and either manually change the config file or use iis manager.

One problem for me is that the website is in a hosted enviroment so i don't have the possibility of altering the ISS. I do know that changing the web.config will restart the application, and that is a sideeffect that i can live with. Then its up to the end-user to make the change at a suitable time.
But i am still very much interested in a solution?

Hi Friends,
I had a problem I want to share may be I was wrong.
I created a XML file myfile.xml and put that file in App_Data folder.
I tried to read out this file using JAVA Script
var xmlDoc = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLDOM");
But I was unable to read this file being in App_Data folder then I moved filt to myxmlfiles folder and I was on my way.
This shows that I can't read a xml file using Javascript from App_data folder of ASp.net
Am I right ?

NO javascript is scripting language which runs at client side if the server and client are at same machine you will be able to read that file but
If another machine/client can't read the file using javascript which is stored at the server.
By the way why you want to read that file using javascript

in that i want to set the page size.how i can set the page size.
In datagrid we can set the page size by giving page size="5",

u have provide 4 link bottom of the datalist. Write a class, For each link u have call repecitve methods of that class.

Hi,
Can anyone help me out in creating a resource calendar with timeline?
The Requirements are:
1)There will be resources(Employees) with start date and end date for a project
2)A resource may be booked for multiple assignments
3)those assignments can falls (Overlaps) on the same start date and end date or with in that dates
What i want:
I want to create the calendar( jus using the asp.net table component and need to fill in red color when the resource is booked on that day
and if he's overbooked ie if the days overlapped the color should be brown...
Can anyone help me please, 
i'm in to the deadline of my project

The Calender Component which you are looking for is available here in this link. And The ASP.NET code to program the Component is also available here. But the dll is missing.... I think you should ask your Company to pay for the Component if you needed...Anyway check this out. you will get an Idea how to Create If you are going to program it on your own...

I need some information. I want to do payment gateway integration through
amazon. can anybody tell me amazon provide such service for payment
gateway integration like paypal through which customer do their payment?
Is it necessary that for that purpose client must have his account on
amazon (in paypal client must have account on paypal). I need some
information regarding that. If is there any document or link
which give some information how can i use that.

Have you tried looking on the Amazon site ? If they have payment services, I've not heard of it. What makes you thnk they do ?

Install the dll in the Global Assembly Cache (GAC). it will be avaliable to other applications on the Server.

Hello Friends
About my web application, I have an integrated web application (ASP n ASP.net), I have created one dll to maintain the session state (session variables are created in ASP page) by passing HttpContext object.
My Problem:
If the session gets timeout, Users are unable to relogin in the same browser, the users have to open the new browser to login again.
I am nt getting why this is happening. Suggestions from you...
