Originally, I intended to link to the DLL statically (at compile time), but it turned out to be slightly more tricky than I thought, so I had to fall back on a wrapper class that links to it at run-time, as you suggest it.

If I do an AddNew in ADO recordset in the middle of the recordset. Where will the record appear, and will it visible to me ?

At the end of the recordset and it will be visible. Remeber to call Update to save the data after calling AddNew and modifying the new fields, unless you have opened the recordset in a BatchUpdate mode...but I'll let you read baout that.
Have a mess around in VB on this to get a feel, or try a good (and amazingly cheap) book like SQL Sever and ADO Programming from Sybex, which covers SQL, T-SQL and ADO. A really good reference book, and covers these kinds of issues.

Not Watcom you say. How about OpenWatcom (the Open Source version - though the license isn't OSI approved yeat AFAIK)?
If you don't like that idea for some reason, what about djgpp? You can't get a better deal than a GPL compiler. 
If you drop the "little" requirement you could probably find MSVC 1.52c (and the "c" is vital) somewhere. Perhaps even MS themselves would sell you a copy.

No, I'm not. Coming to think of it, perhaps it "only" created 32-bit DOS executables using its own "extender"...
For a more informed answer, perhaps you should head over to this place. Even that it's Open Watcom stuff, I believe many of the participants know quite a lot about DOS programming and therefore what possible compilers are available.
I also think you should have a look at the available searchable newsgroups to see if a similar question hasn't surfaced.

The "online" compiler can make 16-bit executables so i think DJGPP can make them too...

You can use Borland C++ 3.1, the last compiler from Borland for DOS

Or MS VC 1.52 - the last 16-bit compiler from Microslop.

Hi there,
I saw a program which called Chemical Lab.
In that program, programmer drew a transparent bitmap on the screen,
And then he drew a line in the bitmap ...
And then he filled the part with white color ...
How can i do that ?
I mean how could i paint the bitmap like that ?
Could explain step by step, please ?

I assume you know how to select a bitmap into a DC.
1. Select "Pic 1" into DC1.
2. Draw a horizontal line that is to be the "level" into that DC (only touching the inner edges of the container).
3. FloodFill the area below it.
Use any of the available techniques to TransBlt "Pic 2" on top. There are numerous examples here at CP.

Where can i download the windows platform sdk just for the use of Internet Protocol Helper or do i need to download the full CORE SDK from http://www.microsoft.com/msdownload/platformsdk/sdkupdate/
problem is that the SDK is kinda of big and i just need specifically the Internet Protocol Helper API.

I don't think you can get it separately -- its part of the core files. You can get it on CD for minimal cost.

Do i need to upgrade my win98 to use the platform SDK may 2002?
The compiler complained that RC.exe the resource compiler requires a newer version of windows.

Ive looked everywhere... how the heck do i turn the lines numbers on in the IDE so I can tell where my errors are coming from?

Its not necessary. Line numers always appear on the IDE's status line (at the bottom of the IDE). Or you can go directly to a line number by selecting Edit | Go To ..., then entering the line number.

Double-click an error line and the IDE will jump right to it. You can then use F4 and shift+F4 to cycle thru the errors.
