I have an ASP.net application that is mostly used by users with conventional computers and laptops. I specify the browser width to 1024 pixels and all of the conventional computers and laptops are able to see what is displayed just fine. The problem is that we have a few users who access the appliction from their treo 755's and I'd like to detect their browsers and present the data in a far more readable fashion for their screen, any suggestions?

Hi all,
I'm trying to figure out the best way to proceed to get to individual child controls of some server controls, so my code won't be so brittle as to be likely to break at the next revision.
For example, I'm trying to get to the month caption so I can add an onclick event to it (or replace the text entirely). The calendar object doesn't appear to have a member mapped to the encapsulating , and it doesn't have an ID either.
The most obvious newbie answer to get to the (in order to be able to do something like td.Attributes.Add("onclick",...something...) ) is to look at the calendar's child control collection, and take a good guess based on its position in the collection. However I don't have much confidence in such an approach that assumes knowledge of what the final output is currently made to look like. Time and again ASP.NET newcomers are told to forget about the HTML, and are encouraged to think of everything as objects that abstract away the implementation details...so I'm trying to play nice and adapt to the framework, rather than fight it and manipulating the HTML generated (which goes against the very spirit of something like ASP.NET).
So what are the accepted ASP.NET practices for scenarios such as this? I'm new to ASP.NET, and like how the server controls go to a certain length to abstract away some HTML ugliness, but the more I toy with them, the more I find them to be severely lacking if you're after a lot of flexibility.
I have a lot of "how do I..." type of questions, but they could probably all be answered if I could get a straight answer to this one.

This event gives you access to each cell as its rendered... allowing you to add attributes if you so desire.
Many controls in ASP.NET and windows forms exhibit similar behaviour. The general term for this is "Owner Drawn". This should help you get the fine customisation you are after.

Ok. But in this particular case I'm trying to add an event to the cell displaying the month name--this doesn't involve DayRender() at all.

on my web server net fw 1.1 and net fw 2.0 is already installed.
i desing my web site with asp.net visual studio express.
So each control used, is net 2.0 controls.
I move the files to wwwroot.
I grant the access to folders for ASPNET user and NETWORK SERVICE user.
but i got the error message "Access to the path "c:\windows\microsoft.net\framework\v1.1.4322\Temporary ASP.NET Files\webapplication1\8dd84b00\b065eec7" is denied. "
i think the iis works on net 1.1
if the error is so ,how can i set it up to net fw 2.0?

You need to open the IIS console: Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Internet Information Services.
Then you select the website you are using (usually Default website) under the computer name node. Select the application you are developing and right click to display the context menu. Select properties from the context menu.
You will get 7 tabs. Click on the ASP.NET tab. There you can change the version

Hi please clearly send the msg anyway u go that tep folder c:\windows\microsoft.net\framework\v1.1.4322\Temporary ASP.NET Files and delete content with in that Temporary ASP.NET folder no need that content its contails some dll so delete all content with in that Temporary ASP.NET folder now u try that

I forgot to ask: How exactly did you move the files to wwwroot? You need to make a web sharing on the folder where you have your files. This will make IIS see your application as a web application.

Hi All,
I would like to search in mydesktop and also in intranet computers( network computers) folders ,in for any type of changes e.g. files gets changed, added ,modified or deleted to be traced with Asp.net applicaiton or VB.Net applicaiton.
Pls.note that all that folder of mypc and other peer computer are not shared.
So, i would like to know that whether it is possible to scan files without sharing ?

With an asp.net application?
You would need administrative access (at a domain level) and you could get to the C$ share on networked pcs.

You should think carefully about what you are doing. Granting domain administrative rights to your ASP.net application is not exactly good practice.
Additionally, looking for all files on all drives in a whole company and seeing what has changed is going to be a slow process.
Why is it that you need to track these changes? Would it maybe be better to install something on all client pc's that logs the changes they are making to a central location?

thanks, I have already tried another project like this,. But i found that this works with only thoes files and folders which are shared across the network. It does not recognizing other folders..
I want , i should be able to scan throuhg folders of files across the network which are not shared with some admin super authority..
Pls. do reply if you found other solutions which satisfy my requirement.

i have one webpage, in that three controls are there(Dropdownlist)
1. Date
2. Country
3. State
Date and State controls have autopostback = false, for counry control autopostback=true while the selection of country the state data will load after postback.
now my question is tabindex in the order of 1,2,3. i am selecting the country using keyboard mouse keys, now the ab is not in the same control, i want the tab conrol is in the country dropdownlist
please help me
