Hi there, according to my understanding about ur question u want to get access Ur variable at C# file to .Aspx file.
For this you need to Define that variable as public and at aspx file you can use that like this
Suppose variable is
public int a=1;
.aspx file code
<%=a%>
Note that you can use any thing defined or property to .aspx file but in tag <%%>

keep in mind that u can use" <%%> " for any this described in c# file to be accessed in .aspx file.
I dont know why the such good coders here in thsi forum says that this is not possible.

if other user login, then they also do the same thing, they want to customize their account, where it save and whats the steps?..

sorry for the confusing quesetion. here it is again...
i didn't mean the user wanted to change his acc.
what i meant is that,after the user has logged in to his acc.
the user can customize his acc. (such as changing the color, background)
then, whnever that user logged in back to his acc.
the interface will be as the user customized in his previous login.

If U want user can edit their account interface, u should use cms. Of course it will save in database.

The simplest way is to use a role/privilege table to a given user and provide different setting for each user. So when a user logs in s/he can view the corresponding page only.

Hello,
To be able to send email with ASP.NET, you need to use the System.Web.Mail namespace. You would need to have an SMTP server (to send emails) that you can access.
To set the SMTP server you want you application to use, you can use SmtpMail.SmtpServer = yourSMTPServerName
To set up an email to send, use something like this:
MailMessage mail = new MailMessage();
mail.To = toAddress;
mail.From = fromAddress;
mail.Body = theEmailTextMessageString;
mail.Subject = theSubjectOfYourMail;
To send the mail, use SmtpMail.Send(mail)

I already try your code. But it seem cannot send the mail. I think i got problems with smtp server. So my next question is how can i used local machine to test my sending email program.
And one more thing where should i put these code (for comfirmation)
my friend said it have to be in C# and in the other file as "code behind" or form processor is it really true. And can this code works in asp.net v1.1

Hi,
yes, it is best to place all the processing code in a code-behind page, which holds a class representing your web form. If you are using Visual Studio 2003 (for framework 1.1), the code-behind page will be added automatically when you create a web form. If your page name is myPage.aspx, the code behind page will be called myPage.aspx.cs.
When you add a button on your web form, if you double-click on it, Visual Studio will automatically attach an event delegate to the button event. Something like this this.btnSubmit.Click += new System.EventHandler(this.btnSubmit_Click); will be put in a method that was generated by Visual Studio called InitializeComponent().
btnSubmit_Click represents a method that will be executed when a user clicks on the submit button (called btnSubmit in this case.) The method skeleton code will also be generated for you and will look like this: protected void btnSubmit_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) The code to send the email should be placed in that method, where the information from the form can also be collected to be put in the mail message.
You need to do some search online to see some examples of pages in order to better understand the concept.

if u want only one output each empid..why dont u use Select Distinct query

Hello,
I have a gridview and I have an 'RowDataBound' event on it. To perform some operations on each row of the grid view i have to check below condition:
if e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow
But the first row and the last row are treated as 'DataControlRowType.Header' and 'DataControlRowType.Footer', Instead the first and last row are also DataRow. Please suggest how can I solve this.
I tried using below condition
if (e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow) || (e.Row.RowType ==
DataControlRowType.Header)
but in the above case, the below statement throws error
DataRowView rowView = (DataRowView)e.Row.DataItem
rowview will be NULL and I will get an error 'Object not set'

hi,
I am not sure you can cast e.Row.DataItem into a DataRowView because e.Row is a GridViewRow and not a DataRow, which is not exactly the same.
To access individual columns of a gridview row, I use the following (in RowDataBound event method):
GridViewRow row = e.Row;
TableCell tcell = row.Cells[0];
string temp = tcell.Text;

My problem is I want to access fist row and but first row is treated as header and last row is treated as footer.
Hence when I check below condition, It thows error.

Ok, if you're using the statement you wrote in the post, I believe it is normal that you get an "object not set" error.
You said that you use the following expression:
if (e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow) || (e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.Header)
This indicates that if the row is either a data row or a header do something. In case it is a header, there is no data in it and it might throw an error if you attempt to access something that is not there.
I have never used DataItem so I cannot tell you for sure but what I'm sure of is that I use the following and it works very well:
GridViewRow row = e.Row;
if (row.RowType == DataControlRowType.Header)
{
}
if (row.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow)
{
}
It could help if you post more code to see exactly what is written.

Yup I agree with you.
The code is as below:
if (e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow )
{
DataRowView rowView = (DataRowView)e.Row.DataItem;
string Code = rowView["CODE"].ToString();
}
Thie fist row doesn't match the condition as row type is DataControlRowType.Header.
But the first row has some data and i want the fist row shouldnt be a DataControlRowType.Header.
Does this helps you to solve the problem

You can choose to remove the header from the GridView if you don't want it at all.
I have tried writing similar lines in my code. I didn't get any error with DataRowView rowView = (DataRowView)e.Row.DataItem. Now I'm thinking that maybe the data binding was not done properly for the GridView? If the data binding was not done, DataItem would be empty and the cast (DataRowView)e.Row.DataItem could thrown an error. I don't see what else could be wrong. Maybe someone can provide a fresh perspective.
