Hi,
Consider the following line,
oWrite.WriteLine(strItem & vbTab & partNo)
The variable partNo is a string that pulls in a number as such, 00001567842. I am using the writeline method to send that string to an excel sheet. I need to have the values in strItem in column 1, and the values of partNo in column 2 including the leading zeros.
I have tried the {1,11}, partNo format or Format("###########", partNo). I have tried declairing partNo as a String as well as an Integer, but neither data types work.
I tried to create a csv file, and it does include the leading 0's but when I use vtab, I get the values of strItem, plus a square (which I assume is the vtab), then my partNo all in one cell.
Is it possible to accomplish what I want with just the WriteLine method?

Change the Cell's property to Text. I think you need to create an object of Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Style then use NuberFormat property. Just Google it. By default Excel cells are Number type.

Could someone please point me to a really good example/tutorial for creating a user control? Specifically I need to create an object that I can place on a form and get mouse click events from. Thanks!

A basic user control, as created by the wizard, will, by definition, get mouse events. You just need to handle them in your code, so you can interact with them

One of the columns in my datagridview is a combobox column. The datasource for the combobox is a datatable. When the user selects an item from the combobox he wants that item to be removed from the list so that when he navigates to a different line in the datagridview and picks an item from the combobox the previously selected item would appear in the list. How can this be done?

Remove the item from the datatable and it will remove itself from the combo box

I've tried that already. If you remove the item that is selected in the combobox, VS displays an error that keeps coming back when you close down the error dialog box. It seems VS cannot display the item in the combobox if it is removed from the list.

You are not going to be able to use databinding for your combobox. You should be able to create your own combobox column and when it is activated you can load the allowed list of values in the drop down.

Hi,
the magic value Environment.NewLine causes a string to span more than one line;
use it at your leisure, every time you want to start a new line in a file,
a textbox, etc. Like so: myTextBox.Text="1"+Environment.NewLine+(2).ToString();
BTW: some people use "\n" or '\n' ; on a Windows PC it would have a similar
effect; but other systems may not like it that much.

When your adding include chr(13) & chr(10) characters.

Better to use Environment.NewLine becuase it will return the correct value for the operating system in which you are running.

What do you expect us to do? Your question is not clear I have no idea what you really need help with. Are you using notepad for something? It sounds like you are trying to catch keyboard entry. What are you trying to do?

If you mean you want to create a Notepad lookalike, maybe based on a (Rich)TextBox,
and (its getting a big if) your cursor moves in strange ways when hitting
arrow keys on a (R)TB that is holding jagged text, then I suggest you consider
using the RichTextBox class, not the TextBox, and read up on it; I trust
the RichTextBox.GetLineFromCharIndex() and GetPositionFromCharIndex() methods
would interest you.

i read text file to view it in printpreview control
i use stream reader to read line by line and i use e.graphices.drawstring to draw line but i must give it font & brush to draw lines so i give them static lines like arial and blue color except of taken this line font and color
