No it is not necessary to create dsn....
You can create new connection with OLE DB(ADO) and select Microsoft Driver for SQL Server after that you can select the required databse.

What on earth are you asking ? Do you mean asp, or ASP.NET ? This is the ASP.NET forum. Either way, you need to make your question clear, perhaps with some code. Don't forget to check 'Ignore HTML tags in this message (good for code snippets)' if you post any tags.

What do you mean?
1) Labels are rendered as SPANs.
2) TextBoxes are rendered as Input Type="text"
3) DropdownLists are rendered Select

Hi, suppose I have html tags for a pay pal button that looks something like the following:
<form action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post">
<input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_s-xclick"><p align="center"><input type="image" src="donations.gif" border="0" name="submit" alt="Make payments with PayPal -it's fast, free and secure!" width="100" height="60">;
<inputtype="hidden"name="encrypted"value="-----BEGINPKCS7-----XZlX2NlcnRzMREwDwYDVQQDFAhsaXZlX2FwaTEcMBoGCSqGSIb3DQEJAR
YNcmVAcGF5cGFsLmNvbYIBADAMBgNVHRMEBTADAQH/MA0GCSqGSIb3DQEBBQUAA4GBAIFf2WhJJyjn3Bmt0jlgpz4MM8aKwAFilpdkg

</form>
Can I use the "Control to Validate" of ASP.NET to validate the button? If not how would I validate this button? I suspect that it can not be done since Control to Validate requires the ID of a control. Thank you in advance for your time.

what sort of validation do you want to do on the button? usually you validate user input
|
|
|
|
|
I want to make sure that the user clicks the button before he or she can continue to the next page where they are asked to supply personal info which will be sent to a database. Basically they have to purchase a membership before they can create their user name and password.

Hi
Instead of validating, you can disable the "NEXT" button unless and untill the user click the "Pay Pal" button

Is there an easy way to do that or do I have to use a script of some kind to disable the NEXT button until another button is clicked?
|
|
|
|
|
u can make the button a server control (runat=server) and use a session variable to to show if button is clicked. before you process the next page check the sission variable if its nothing go back to the page with the button.

Please read the forum guidlines. You cros-posted in THREE boards which is a no-no. Give your messages meaningful titles and not 'help me.'

Hello
I'm having a go at using web user controls and url rewritting in asp.net 1.1 (vb) and I'm having a problem with urls, here is what I want to do:
1. I want to use one .asx page for all my UI and load user controls depending on what is clicked by user (as a master page would do in .net 2.0)
2. My hyperlink controls' NavigateUrl property have the virtual path for the user control to load (set in the designer)
3. In Application_BeginRequest method I get the virtual path part from the request and use context.rewritepath to my .aspx page with the virtual path as a querystring
MY PROBLEM:
The string in the request.rawurl keeps getting longer every time i click a link. The virtual path keeps getting appended to the url each time.
Please help!! (I'm a newbie in this area)
Thanks
George
