Does anyone have an example on how to use the binding navigator control on a Visual Basic 2005 .NET form and make it behave like an Access data bound form?

Bind the data source to the navigator control, then bind your textboxes and labels to the individual fields Big Grin | :-D

Hi i am displaying my records in datagrid...,
In that one month data's are displaying with the date...,
Now,Except those dates anyother date will be there in that month...,
It also want to show...,

Example:

june month have 30 days...,

But in my table 1 to 22 date and 25 to 30 date records...,
It will be display using query...,
Remaining 23 to 24 dates also want to show in that datagrid ...,
How to do that...,
Plz tell me...,

Please do not cross post.

From what I understand your grid is failing to show 2 of the records you expected ? We can't tell you why, without seeing the code.

What information are you looking to put in your list? A list of all the Tables contained with your DataSet, or the specific contents of a specific Table contained within your DataSet?

OK - so you want a column in your table to populate your listbox. Lets assume you want the first column (column number 0). One way to do it would be ...

How to createObject or GetObject of running Window Service (vb.net 2005)

Hello There
I have created One window service and Installed on Server. Now from CLient Machine I need to access that Window Service and need to use one function inside the service. At the moment I have installed the service on client machine as well to test the object creation. But it always say cannot create Object error 429 .. Can any one guide me how to do this or is it possible ?

Windows services are not designed to be used this way. If there is a function you need that the windows service has, it should probably be in its own dll and be shared across projects. If you want to be able to call a certain funtion you would have to use remoting or a web service.

hi,this works in vb2005. hope also in VB2003
go to Properties of Project & click on application tab
now click on checkBox related to "Make single instance application"

Thanks for your reply, but unfortunately VB.NET 2003 and VB.NET 2005 differ from each another in that area. I did find a nice sample of code to validate an instance of an application at http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.php?t=398309

Did you try creating a mutex? As far as I know, that is the general solution to such problem, and can be used in any language, since is supported by the OS through APIs. If CreateMutex() returns ERROR_ALREADY_EXISTS means there's an already running instance of your application.

crystal report printing in default paper size

i want a report in 5x6 inch. for that i made a report in that size. i done my all other coding in vb.net. when i took print out of the report its comming in letter ize.

i made a custom print size in server properties of printer.
and set it as default printer. while checking the print dialog box i found out that its showing letter in paper size

Can any one help me with this... i am in great trouble...

hi abhilash,
there is a trick in my mind
increase page footer section height according to your page size.My mean is that,height of your report is 6 inch . Now increase the page footer height by 5 inch(since letter size paper height is 11 inch) & left incrasing area of page footer section empty.

hope this helps

one more thing .if you change your printer( by right click on report at design time) to dot matrix printer,then custom paper appear in print dialog box.

not really yar.... the problem is that its a roll paper... so if u put too much footer means it will be wate of paper...

I need call a window console application from the asp.net page; however, if I use the impersonate in the web config and use the administrator as the impersonate user, when we call the application, the system would raise a error. How to solve the problem? The detail information as below:
1) Window Console application (Call the Excel to generate a report as the Excel format)
2) CallBatch.aspx (create a process to run the window console application using the impersonate
<identity impersonate="true" userid="<Domain">\<administrator user=""> Password= />
3)Set the permission for the Excel DCOM component.

Why can't you just move the code from the console app into your code behind. You want to run this on the server, right ?

Yes, we could move the code from the console app into the code behind; as your said, we need run it on the server as well. On the other hand, even if we move the code, the same permission problem still happens.
