You can't - a winforms app doesn't know how to run javascript. Only internet explorer knows how to run javascript, are you running an IE control in your page ?

hi,
I have a page set up with a formview control. i have edited the template so that it contains 10 text fields that are bound to a database. Instead of using 'Paging' i would like to have a 'Previous' and 'Next' button to navigate.
i have no idea how to do this, please advise
Thanks in anticipation of your response

Hi,
I am looking for an effective way to prevent my C# asp.net web application from reloading by backward navigation after logout. I have tried alot of existing methods that are posted on the internet but none of them are effective enough. For instance after I refresh the page it reloads again.

I'm a beginner here,I found problem to insert data into MySQL using ASP.NET. Anyone can give me some solution here?
This is my code running VB backend:
Dim strConnString As String = "Driver={MySQL ODBC 3.51 Driver};Server=localhost;option=3;Database=Database;Uid=User;Pwd=Pass;"
Dim ObjConn As New OdbcConnection(strConnString)
Dim ObjComm As OdbcCommand
Protected Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
Try
ObjComm = New OdbcCommand("INSERT INTO member_1(Member_ID,Username,Gender,Email,Contact_No,Address,Password)VALUES(" & TextBox1.Text & "," & TextBox2.Text & "," & TextBox3.Text & "," & TextBox4.Text & "," & TextBox5.Text & "," & TextBox6.Text & "," & TextBox7.Text & "", ObjConn)
If (TextBox1.Text = "" Or TextBox2.Text = "" Or TextBox3.Text = "" Or TextBox4.Text = "" Or TextBox5.Text = "" Or TextBox6.Text = "" Or TextBox7.Text = "") Then
Else
ObjConn.Open()
ObjComm.ExecuteNonQuery()
ObjConn.Close()
End If
Catch ex As Exception
Console.WriteLine(e.ToString())
End Try
Anyone could tell me whats wrong with my code here? I unable to insert to MySQL database. But I have test the connection string with SELECT roles and it works. Thank you for reading.

Hi
Regarding your problem
i never used MySQL but in sql server
if you are inserting strings into DB you need to put quats before and after the string like this
ObjComm = New OdbcCommand("INSERT INTO member_1(Member_ID,Username,Gender,Email,Contact_No,Address,Password)VALUES('" & TextBox1.Text & "','" & TextBox2.Text & "','" & TextBox3.Text & "','" & TextBox4.Text & "','" & TextBox5.Text & "','" & TextBox6.Text & "','" & TextBox7.Text & "'", ObjConn)
hope it works

How can i include a javascript file in aspx? also how can we add textbox in aspx during runtime?

TextBox myTextbox = new TextBox();
Page.Controls.Add(myTextbox);

What Mark said, except
1 - the script tag needs to be closed, and
2 - if you want to access the textbox in code behind, you need to add it before the page load event, so that viewstate is restored to the control.

I am preparing a site for a school, where student can see answers posted by teacher(s). Page looks (only for this page) will be very much similar to code project, where we can have chain of answers.....
Can i use repeater control for this? I am not sure how i will bind the replies with question if i used repeater control....
But obvious Questions will be display in ItemTemplate...

To resolve this problem, register the Adodb.dll file in the global assembly cache (GAC). On a computer where only the .NET Framework is installed, the file Gacutil.exe does not exist.. Either obtain the gacutil file by installing Microsoft .NET Framework SDK, or create a Visual Studio.NET setup project that uses the installer to install the correct components.

Both are read-only properties. How are you able to assign the values???
|
|
|
|

if the item is already existing then check whether whether u are calling these lines
ddlist.SelectedValue=session("name")\\it gives null
ddlist.SelectedItem.Text=session("name")\\\it gives object reference not set to instance of object error.
before the dropdownlist is populated or after!!!
if you are running it before the population then it cannot find the dropdownlist and it will give a null reference exception!!!
