i have some text in textbox1.when i change data of tht text box at run time
text change event has to be fired.how to do tht(text change has to be fired ewithout pressing enter or tab key)n i cant use javascript for this.any other solution???
actually i want to enetr text in gridview when button is clicked(for tht row)i get pop up window with some text.so for tht i m taking text box outside tht grid n passing value of tht textbox to grid cell. any other way to do this??

In the check Availability button, trigger an XmlHttp call where you can check for Duplication/Availability and inform the user accordingly.

Hello,
I have an input form to collect user info. In the middle of the form I had a dropdown with Autopostback enabled. Here if the user selects "Employed" I want to dispaly 2-3 text boxes below the drop down to collect his employment details and move the already existing fields below the new ones.

Better create the textboxes at design time and keep that as invisible. Then on selected index changed event of dropdown, make it visible according to your conditions.

For this better do with javascript.. You can use style.display. That will hide the invisible area and brings the control up.

Hi all guys,
I am trying to get the index of the listbox,
after I selected RadioButton that has Autopostback=true.
Here is some code.....
string titleColor = this.titleColorList.Items[this.titleColorList.SelectedIndex].Text;
And then I tried to show the result: Transparent
The Transparent is the first member of list or it has index=0
It took me for hours  still don't know how to get it work.
Anybody know how to resolve this problem?
Any help would be appreciated.

set EnableViewState of your dropdownlist to true, it will save the value after the page load. If it is not what you need, I did not well understood

The listbox dropdownlist still keep and showing what member I selected after postback but when I tried to show what exactly selectedIndex is, it shows me the first index, it wasn't the index of the selected value.

It looks like the dropdownlist is getting rebound in Page_Load even on Postback. Can you check whether you could bypass this by using IsPostback property so that the control is resurrected of its values from the ViewState statebag?

and now i want to return value selected in the ddl of webform 2 to webform1

Webform 2:
i am loading the ddl with the help of query string passed from webform1
now how to send the selected value of ddl to webform 1 from webform2

First Put a frame.aspx in between child and parent form and do the following.
Use this in ur child form:
