A block of code is giving exception in Release mode--outside VS, but not in debug mode. Can you please tell what is the problem with my this method? How can i track the exception? Its running properly in the debug but i don't know what goes wrong in the Release mode.
int i = 0;
int res = BAD_RESULT;
try
{
vector<dataaccess::tagpartdiameterrecord> parts;
if (m_pDoc->doGetPartDiameters(parts))
{
for(i = 0; i < parts.size(); i++)
{
if (parts[i].PartDiameterLUT < 10.0 ) PartDiameterLUT[i]= 10.0;
if (parts[i].PartDiameterLUT > 120.0) PartDiameterLUT[i]= 120.0;
if (parts[i].RetractDistInches < 0.0) RetractDistInchesLUT[i]= 0.0;
if (parts[i].RetractDistInches < 40.0) RetractDistInchesLUT[i]= 40.0;
if (parts[i].JointTypeLUT < 0) JointTypeLUT[i]=(JointMode)0;
if (parts[i].JointTypeLUT > 3) JointTypeLUT[i ]=(JointMode)0 ;
}
res = GOOD_RESULT;
AfxMessageBox("GOOD_RESULT");
}
else
{
AfxMessageBox("Part Diameter Data could not be loaded1");
return BAD_RESULT;
}
}
catch(...)
{
AfxMessageBox("HERE IS THE EXCEPTION THAT IS THROWN");
return BAD_RESULT;
}
return res;
} // LoadDiameterLUT

Dude - this is the C# forum. This code is C++/MFC.

Dude - if you catch an exception look at it instead of replacing it by
a meaningless constant string.

His code is C++, he doesn't get a meaningful exception object.

are you using source safe for the project?
|
|
|
|
|
the folder could be in read only mode.
|
|
|
|
|
could also be a rights problem

Which version of .net are you trying it on?

If you read the previous part of the thread you'll see he's using MFC C++ and posted in the wrong forum.

First off, you're talking to yourself. You're the only one getting notifications that you replied, to yourself.
Second, none of what you said is applicable to the OP's problem, because he's using C++/MFC, not C# or the .NET Framework.

Hello!
I want to know wether current position of cursor in a textbox is the last, how do I achieve this?

The SelectionStart property gives you the cursor pos, the Text.Length property gives you the length of the string.

TextBox.SelectionStart==TextBox.TextLength

Hi,
could anyone help me with my problem? I would like to create windows service to monitor and log outputs from a hardware PCI card (special card connected to some sensors ...) This is simple and I am able to do it, but there is second usage of the service and I don't know how to do it. I have another applications (Windows applications) and they need to connect to the service and receive the data from HW card each time the data changed. It would be great if I'll able to connect to some interface of the service and catch some event OnChange or something similar. I don't know if it is possible and if yes how to do it.
Is it possible or is there better way to do this?

Have you tried doing that with .NET remoting? It supports sending events.
Or better yet, have a look at WCF. It supports memory pipes as the communication channel. It should be ideal.

I tried to create a sample application in which the messages has to be sent to the server and it is working fine.
Then i tries to reply the messages from the client in the server, in that i faced a problem where can i write the code to SendMessage() and ReceiveMessage() funcitons, is it in Remote Object class or in the server.
In many application in the server there is no loop and whenever i am pressing enter it is coming out of the program.
Kindly give me an solution.
