Hi..
Whenever I run an asp1.1 web application I got the error:
External component has thrown an exception.
Exception Details: System.Runtime.InteropServices.SEHException: External component has thrown an exception.
and the source error show me one of the first lines of the page html code lines like the page directive element.
Could anyone help to solve this problem?

This error is Caused because of the Unmanaged code,
The SEHException class also responds to the HRESULT E_FAIL, which has the value 0x80004005.
Do you got this value in ur error.

Thank you for your respond but the account Iam using to access these applications is an Administrator account and Iam running the applications localy so when I want to set permissions for the registry key the Allow check boxes are not visible because it is supposed that the administrators have all permissions on the computer.
I am too late but i will never give up

The strange thing is that this error occured whenever I run an asp.net 1.1 application.(even a simple project).

1. Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
2. Select the following key in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC
3. On the Security menu, click Permissions.
4. Type the required permissions for the account that is accessing the Web page.
5. Quit Registry Editor.

Why do you want to use asp.net and c#? The same can be done through javascript with window.print.

doen not corespond to the URL
http:\\localhost\webapplication1
The two need to map the same server location
HTTP error 404 not found.

the following is a real time connection string 
string connString = "Provider=SQLOLEDB;SERVER=65.99.254.111,1092; DATABASE=cig; UID=cig; PWD=cig911";
make sure you had made a user in ms sql server and its password, like I have
username is "cig" and password is "cig911"

Here IP is internet database machine IP address but what is POT? Is it a Port no.? If yes which Port no.

go to
Start> All Programs> Microsoft SQL Server 2005> Configuration Tools> SQL Server Configuration Manager
There go to
SQL Server 2005 Network Configuration> Protocols for SQLExpress>TCP/IP
right click on it then Properties
in IP Addresses define in IPALL section TCP Port the one you'll have in your connection string
and make sure your firewall is not blocking that port, either turn your firewall off or enter ip and/or port firewall so it won't block that ip port

Hi,
You can create and event handler for ItemDataBound event of datagrid and assign tooltip for the column header.
protected void dg_ItemDataBound ( object sender, DataGridItemEventArgs e )
{
if ( e.Item.ItemType == ListItemType.Header )
{
e.Item.Cells[0].ToolTip = "tooltipvalue";
e.Item.Cells[1].ToolTip = "tooltipvalue";
e.Item.Cells[2].ToolTip = "tooltipvalue";
}
}
This way you can assign tooltip for all the columns in the header.

I have my website which downloads huge PDF files to the tune of 500 MB. The files had to be read and streamed by an ASP.NET HttpModule. It was working fine in the local environment.
When we transferred and deployed the application to the hosting provider, files more than 20 MB proceed to download upto 90% without any hiccup. As if pre-programmed, the download halts at this and after a while, I get the message 'Internet Explorer can not download. The connection with the server was reset'.
We were trying to look at ASP.NET Usage, TaskManager spiking or idleness of ASP.NET process (which would have deadlocked) but all these perfectly within a good equilibrium conditions.

i am using microsoft.practices.security.cryptography in VS 2.0
my code is as follows....

this is wroking when the decrypt string is large( length more than 7)
but when i am using the length less than 7
i am getting error page like this...

Hey Vinod,
Here the Encrypted Text have more than 127 character. You can decrypt only the Encrypted Text only. I think you are try to Decrypt the Normal Text itself.
