I created the class as BLL/TechBLL.cs folder. Apparently, I am trying this out on the web and am getting session timeout. The CommandCollection seems to be only helpful for nonweb users. How can I get timeout session against the web? Thanks.

Hi all,
Been trying to play with Windows Sharepoint Services(2003 I think?) a bit recently and I'm having some pretty frustrating problems. My ASP.NET 2.0 knowledge isn't wonderful, but by my understanding, Web Parts can be used to wrap a user control and used in a web part page, correct? I tested a basic user control as a web part in my Vista environment using regular IIS and it seems to work fine. However, Sharepoint really doesn't play well with what I give it. I've looked at a bunch of different tutorials on how to get the things to work, but they just add to my confusion. Everytime I try to upload the Web Part I made to wrap a user control I did to Sharepoint, it tells me that I can't import the part. (Exact error message is: "Unable to add selected web part(s). Cannot import this Web Part.")
So does this mean that Sharepoint *requires* that you use the Sharepoint Web Parts framework/namespace, or can you use the regular ASP.NET ones found in the System namespace? And if I can use regular Web Parts, would the import error be from the configuration files? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I have a dropdown control on an aspx page,with the first item
--Select a Customer-- Value -1
I used a compare validatore to compare the dropdown control selectedvalue with "-1",the validator did not fire

Dropdown control on an aspx page:
--Select a Customer-- ----> Value -1
First ----> Value 1
Second ----> Value 2
Then set the following Properties for CompareValidator1:
1. Error message: U must select at least one value...
2. Test: *
3. Control to validate: ddlselect (Your Dropdown list name)
4. Operator : NotEqual
5. Type: Integer
6. Value to compare: -1
Now it will work. Try it out.

Hmmm...tough question. Maybe retrieve the addresses from the database and send them each an email, or add them all to the to property.

Hi all,
I know we're all mostly developers here, and not fairy designer types, but I'm in a bit of a fix since I'm on this web project all on my todd. So, does anyone know of a good place to get royalty free/public domain/ok to use in a commercial application XP Style Icons for the web? (I can probably stretch to $50.... the budget is real tight on this project!)

Hi,
I have dropdownlist named ddlapplication in my web form. When I click any item it insert
that record in database with primary key and show in gridview.
If user try to add the same record next time by clicking same item from the dropdown list
which already exist in database it should show error message that this
record alredy exist or in other words before inserting it should check wheather the record is already in database or not.
How can I do that. Here is my code

You will have to validate against the database, do a Select Count(Appid) From tbUsersAppRights Where AppID = @str1" and when count is zero you can insert the row into the database.

I have a text file(which is in different server) to be uploaded to database table. When we browse the file, and click upload button, it should redirect to other aspx page and from where the path of the file will be sent to a procedure to insert the values in the text file to a table.
But when I select a file and click the upload button its giving "Page cannot be Displayed" error.
My code is like this:

Plz could u confirmed, is it working fine for local machine files.
If yes then you first save the file in locat system when upload the file from different server, then redirect the page with local file path.
If no then plz check before redirect first sure your Provided URL is write or wrong.

I am using crystal report 9.0 in asp.net(1.1) application and report deplayed in report application server.
when i tried to export report to pdf format it shows "server agent has timed out" error after 25 mins.
it is very lengthy report and around 800+ pages, also this has 2 subreports and dataset as the data source of the report. the error is getting incosistently.
Any help regarding this is greatly appreciated.

I crate a software which runs on intranet & when we login by putting say,

then browser should disappear so that the back button <--
should not be used by user.
can u suggest to solve my problem.

I have a table in may database and I have a column there phonenumber which is of datatype numeric(18,0). I have a text box in my web form where I type phone number 1-760-897-9879. But when I try to insert this phione number into my database it gives me error "styring is not in proper format." may be the data type of my column is not correct.
Can any body helps me.
