i am creating a C# application,the main form has a background image.
i want to put another panel on top but it should be trasparent.
i want to see the back ground image.
how can i make the panel trasparent?

i removed the panel and added the label
but the samething happening i cant change it to transparent.
there is an option in backcolour to set transparent but it shows a gray colour only

Hello,
I have made a little test project, where it works just fine with the transparent color set to the panel and label!
I know that there a problems with transparency in multiple cases (TransparencyKey, Transparent Color, ...).
If you search the web you will find a lot off peaple sharing the same problem.
One hint could be, that there are some graphic cards (processors) who have problems with transparency in compination with 32 bit Color quality.
So as a quick test you could set Color Quality to 16 bit.

Change the opacity value.
If your Panel does not support Transparent background (try changing background color to transparent from the properties window ), then you should implement your custom panel using :
this.SetStyle(ControlStyles.SupportsTransparentBackColor | Opaque, true); in your constructor.
Then playing with the opacity value of your control, you can make it as much transparent as you want.

Hi all,
I have used skmmenu 2.2 version in my sharepoint(2003)project. now when i view the same page in netscape browser 8.1 or Mozilla firefox, the look & feel of the browser drastically changes & the menu seems distorted,in terms of the alignment & css applied to it. The menu works fine for IE 5.5/6.
Went thro the skmmenu documentation as well, but did not come across any mention of browser compatibility.
Would appreciate any kind of help on this issue.

Hello All,
I have a datagridview control to display information like the file name and file path. The file paths displayed are all long strings and i want them to wrap to the column. To achieve this i have set the follwinf properties:
1) DefaultCellStyle.WrapMode = DataGridViewTriState.True
2) AutoSizeMode = DataGridViewAutoSizeColumnMode.Fill
3) AutoSizeRowsMode = DataGridViewAutoSizeRowsMode.DisplayedCellsExceptHeaders
Here i find that the text gets wrapped only if space is provided in the text. I have almost all the file paths with no space and hence the text is not getting wrapped. Please help me out to solve this issue.

Hi
I have problem in clearing the grid view. It is binding the old values every time i try to bind any values to the grid.
This is the code i have written to clear the grid view
Private void clearGridView(DataGridView gView)
{
gView.SelectAll();
if(gView.SelectedRows.Count== gView.Rows.Count)

gView.Rowsl.Clear();
}
foreach(DataGridViewRow dvConnRow in gView.SelectedRows)

The easy way is to remove the reference to your data layer, and then check all the error messages, to see what they are calling. Or, if your data layer methods are static, just search for the name through the file.

Checkout Updater Application Block from Enterprise Library ( you can download it from Microsoft website )
Also, you can have a look at webservice development to create your webservice, log in, send the encrypted user registration info, decrypt it on web service side, validate, send the result back to your application.
Or, can try .NET Remoting instead of web services.
