Use a datagrid and set the pagesize as 10 for the datagrid. Then bind the datagrid. Note that if you are using datareader , you can't do paging in datagrid. For that use datasets.

Hi,
Repeater doesnt support paging. so better u use datagrid of gridview as both of them having functionality of paging which reduce a lot of coding overhead.
And if you are stick to use repeater then you have to put separate linkbuttons to navigate between pages and write your own logic to fetch data from the database to display in the page. This idea is I think not good to implement as per my experience.

First make AllowPaging="True" and PageSize="10" and use this:

a gridview control is found in the ASP 2.0 version under the "Data" header of the toolbox.
if u r using ASP 1.1 the name would be "Datagrid".
these controls are pre coded to display data, allowing you to page, and even support update commands directly..
A repeater is a type of a template control, wherein you specify the look and feel of the control, and along with it do pretty much coding to display data.and the paging functionality would also have to be coded...
so, its recommended to use the DATAGRID or GRIDVIEW..

GridView control is present in the ASP.NET 2.0 which replaced datagrid control in ASP.NET 1.1

I have been attempting to add a Confirmation Popup to a Button that comes from a ButtonField in a GridView. I have successfully identified the Button and added the Javascript with the code below. When I press the Button, a Confirmation Popup comes up with the "Ok" or "Cancel" buttons as usual. The problem is that when I press the "Ok" button….no post back is made. I can't figure it out. Is there some kind of special consideration that I missed with adding this kind of confirmation to a Button from a ButtonField?

Try binding 'Click' or 'Command' event to button which executes on the server when button is clicked. e.g. -
RowButton.Click += new EventHandler(this.RowButton_Click);

Try to get the return value. If the user clicks OK button, it will be true, otherwise false. Postback only happens if it is true.

I am using Visual Studio 2005 and programming with VB.Net
The problem is that, I am using a menu in the main page and when i click on this menu it loads a websuercontrol. In this websuercontrol there is a dropdownList "i checked its autopostback property" but when i choose one of the items in this dropdown list the webusercontrol disappears, and i don't want that.
Please tell me how to solve this probelm

For every postback the page is recreated from the original markup. If you want your user control to stay on the page, you have to add it in every postback.

i configured a webserver right in the company to host pages i developed for them.
when i try accessing the site by http://fedexghana.com (short url), i get an error but i can access it by the full url (http://www.fedexghana.com). please, anyone with the solution
i realised that most sites can be access via a short url.

I think that you have only added the host header name for the subdomain www.fedexghana.com in the web site identification for the site. Also add the host header name for the domain itself: fedexghana.com.

thanks for your concern. i tried using both www.fedexghana.com and fedexghana.com as host header names(HHN) and both HHN have the same port number but the web site wouldnt run. Pls any more solution
