Hi,
Try to get the return value. If the user clicks OK button, it will be true, otherwise false. Postback only happens if it is true.

I am using Visual Studio 2005 and programming with VB.Net
The problem is that, I am using a menu in the main page and when i click on this menu it loads a websuercontrol. In this websuercontrol there is a dropdownList "i checked its autopostback property" but when i choose one of the items in this dropdown list the webusercontrol disappears, and i don't want that.
Please tell me how to solve this probelm

For every postback the page is recreated from the original markup. If you want your user control to stay on the page, you have to add it in every postback.

and how can i add it in every postback, by the way i have 5 menus and each one loads a different webusercontrol.

i configured a webserver right in the company to host pages i developed for them.
when i try accessing the site by http://fedexghana.com (short url), i get an error but i can access it by the full url (http://www.fedexghana.com). please, anyone with the solution
i realised that most sites can be access via a short url.

I think that you have only added the host header name for the subdomain www.fedexghana.com in the web site identification for the site. Also add the host header name for the domain itself: fedexghana.com.

thanks for your concern. i tried using both www.fedexghana.com and fedexghana.com as host header names(HHN) and both HHN have the same port number but the web site wouldnt run. Pls any more solution

I use a data connection web.config file stores path to access database.

Then in my pages I string my connections settings.
And here is an example of a page loading a data grid using sql statements.

VB.NET Visual basic is nothing but a language like C# you can use it similar to C#.

Hi,
I have a master page and content page. In content page I have to validate the text boxes for
name,address, phone number and email address etc. But as content pages doersn't have html section not head or body section so, where I use this java script in content page to validate the form.

If it is something used by several pages you might want to put it in the master page. Since in your case it is specific to your content page you can just put the script tag right after the content tag. so something like:

You could try the following. Put your javasscript in a .js file.

Another alternative is to use the ASP.NET ClientScriptManager class which provides methods (e.g., RegisterClientScriptBlock) to add javascript either at the top or bottom of a page. The class also provides methods to test whether a chunk of code has already been added.

Oh come on guys, do I ask that much? I'm sure you know, it's not hard, it's just that I get a picture that "cannot be displayed" and when I look inside (with mozilla) I see
