Hi,
i have a Client Server Application where my client is connected with more
than one server with common port . I have to handle huge data frequently.
I am using Asynchronous Socket Programming.
Is it right to use the same port for more than one server(same
application). I am using and my application is working quite well.
The Problem is some messages (not all) from the server are missing.

hey,
I'm using the resource manager in C# and I think I see a major shortcomming.
In java you can do this:
titleDoc: "This is you title of: {0}"
and when you call this je can add a parameter
Can you do this in C#?

I have no idea why they did not add this directly to the resource manager, but apparently they didn't (or I didn't look the right place, always an option). So use string.Format with the string from the ResourceManager.... or use a .NET 3.5 CTP and extend the ResourceManager class.
So a shortcoming: yes... a major one: no.

Hi,
I think that you can't freeze a row in a datagrid. But a homemade solution is create a usercontrol that contains a datagrid(dock = fill, and scrollbars=none)and a panel with two buttons inside(scroll up and scroll down). Then, implement your "freezing logic" in the button event of each one.
If you were using a datagridview you can play more easily with the "FirstDisplayedRowIndex" property to scroll...

Is it possible to save a Solution/Project under a different name (than the name you gave it when you created it) with Visual C# 2005 Express Edition?
How do you do this?

Certainly you can do that with SAVE AS option, But this doesn't suffice the need as the project are still pointed to the earlier one.
I would suggest that create a blank solution and start adding projects, this also has the same problem as earlier.
To get away with the problem copy the project to different solution and add to one of the new blank solutions..

In the row data bound you would need to add the attribute to the cell and associate it with some javascript that check the format..

for example you want to associate onKeyPress with some xyz javascript.
Now this can be done in data bound event for each column. now all the columns are accessed as collection of item. You associate this with xyz javascript example is as follows:
protected void GridView1_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e)
{
if (e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow)
{
e.Row.Attributes.Add("onKeyPress", "xyz()");
}
}

Hi all,
I am still very new to C#. I have created a Windows Application in VS2005, and added a new class (Class1) that I created. I've then added another Form to the Application.
My problem is that I want to declare the Class (Class1) so that I can use it in both Forms.
Where about's in the Application would I do this please?

It really depends on what you want to do with the class. Class1 is not a very good name, it doesn't decribe what the class represents.
You could create an instance of the class in the first form then pass it to the second form in its constructor (you'll have to modify the constructor of the second form to accomodate the object). Or you could do one of many other things.
What is the purpose of Class1?

Hi Sorry I was using simple names to try and no over complicate it.
Basically I created a new windows form project using VS2005.
I then created a new Class called NavConnection. This class contains details such as Servername, databasename etc...
Next I added application settings which match the props in the class NavConnection.
From the Main Form I added a new MenuStrip and a call to a new form I created. On the new form I have textboxes that mimic the Usersettings/Navconnection.
The idea being that when this form is run it will populate the textbox's with the data from the class.
Then when the app is closed the User Settings will be saved from the Class NavConnection.
So when I run the app I want to create an instance that it used through out the app.
Does that make more sense?
It may not be the best way to do this but I am inventing little projects to help learn C#

You need to create an instance of your class as a member.
As in
NavConnection conn = new NavConnection();

Hi,
You write "public static MyClass myClass1 = new MyClass () outside "Form1_Load()" or "Form2_Load()" to use in both forms.
