i have VS2005 without crystal report
so i will use report
i want help for
How to creat report with parameter passing
(also don't know how to creat report)

i have one application in that i save image,id,date in table
i want view datewise report
such as all yesterday's record

1,2,3 ae the date related to the 01/01/2007 ,02/01/2007,03/01/2007 dates respetively.
u want to display the epot in the above pattern.

the thing is u have to develop the eports uself.
All I can do is , I can tell u the way , how to proceed.
First include a report file to ur project
then u will see a dialog box , select the coss tab there
the next page is for new connection creation
select the new connection creation and collapse the plus button
select the type eg access
click next
select the database
after this u will get the tables .
select the table u want.
after then click next
do the linking between the tables(relation between the tables.)
then u will get a dialog box
select the field for the heading
like on the paticuar date u have to show it's product.
select the date field likewise for the columns
and for the summary field select the field that u want to display under the date.
and remaining for the rows.
and finally click finish

"To creat a report layout,drag items from the toolbox & fileds list & drop them here"

right click on the project in solution explorer and click to add--- add new item
select the report file(.rpt)

HI,
i'm trying to develop an application that will call VB C++ ocx funtion. When i try run in Visual basic 6.0, everything run smootly,but after i created an exe file and try run with the exe file. It will prompt out an error message "Automation Error The Object invoked has disconnected from client -2147417848". Have anyone know how to solve it?
I am appreaciate if anyone can guide me.

I am developing a window application with screen resolution 1024*768
now when i change it to 1280*1024 then the display changes
how can i make sure that display remains the same even when resolution is changed.

You can set the dock and anchor properties of your controls so they resize nicely. Or you can make your app a fixed window size by setting the window style so it doesn't allow resizing, and make sure there's no maximise button on the form.

There is good Idea only if you try bit hard
All you have to do is Add Controls at runtime and Fix the size of Controls on the basis of percentage of Screen resolution
Hope you are getting my idea

Hello,
You have two choices:
1) use API's to change the resolution to the default resolution(1024*768).
2) Make use of the scrollbars, so that when the resolution is changed, then by using scrollbars the control(s) can be traversed.

I have form that uses a timer control. The user can stop, start and reset this timer. The idea of this timer is to log how long a engineer has taken to complete a specific job. The user will stop the timer by clicking a button on the form.
However, the problem is that the user can close the form and when they do the timer will automatically stop.
I am looking for a solution what will allow the timer to function after form has been closed and when the form is re-opened no time has been lost.
I know that the timer will run in the UI thread, so is it worth creating another thread for the actual timer control?
This is a mdi application, is it a better solution to have the timer control placed on the parent?

You obviously need to store the timer outside the form, so that whereever it is, it will keep running. Making it static (shared) may work, I am not sure.
