i add a FileUpload control an a button in the update panel but when FileUpload set to file and button clicked i recieved the error and PostedFile property of File Upload is null
but when i don't use Update Panel all things is Ok
what's the problem ??

We have developed a .net application with back end sql server 2000. Operating system on server machine is Windows Server 2003.Client machine's OS is Windows XP. Sql server authentication is given. I can access the sql server from the client machine. Butw when trying to access the sql server through the .Net application it shows an error 'Sql Server does not exists or access deneid'.
I am using the same connection string for a windows application and it gets connetced and works fine.
Please help me

Hi,
I have a button named btn1, now under the btn1_click event i wrote the following:
if(condition)

else

this.RegisterClientScriptBlock("",DisplayAlert());
}

Now the alert is being displayed but the entire page is being blank when displaying the alert box.
The requirement is that original page should be at the background while displaying the alert message.

Actually the javascript has to get registered on page load. In your case it is happening after you click the button.

You can registrer the buttons onclick event by using button.Attributes.Add("onclick","DisplayAlert();");
If you now add the javascript function to the page's html and remove the original click event in code it should all work fine.

Try it using RegisterStartupScript(Type, string, string), it will work as per ur expectation.

Hi,
I m new to this forum, would anybody help me please? I have deployed a web application on the server before testing it on two similar environments. It was working fine on all stages but when deployed on production following error displayed. Also note that this error does not occur all the times but an intermittent issue.
My application home page carries two frames, lower frame always is works fine while the error message is displayed on the upper frame.

just a suggestion: delete all temporay files...then re-compile....

That usually works, but you need to make sure you get everything...I'm sure enjoyCrack meant this, but no need to delete "Temporary Internet Files" from IE - need to look in <windir>\Micrisoft.net\Framework\xxxx.xxxx\Temporary ASP.NET files directory - you'll see a sub folder for each app your server is running. Make sure nothing is locking the files (that's the fun bit - close IE, VSS AND issue an IISReset / stop) and delete the offending folder. Once deleted, don't panic if your app appears not to load for a bit - it can take a while, since the it essentially has to be re-built on the server....but it'll get there eventually...

I have an asp:button which when clicked runs a quick check of some database values, and then does a Response.Redirect("some_page.aspx"); to one of two pages, depending on the result.
I want to be able to add a javascipt popup window to this button as well that will display some parallel information. At the moment I can only make it either do the redirecting, OR open the popup. How can I make both happen?

I think you can attach javascript window.open to open a popup and then can write your server side code for redirect it to another page. But honestly I don't think it is a good practice.

I am facing a problem , i have to download images from my asp.net application to the server for which i use mapping in which i create a temperory drive on the server and then map the images before downloading it in the respective folder of the server .
I am using the impersonation concepts , when i download it on XP it is working fine but in case of win 2k its not working
eror 1314 always appears means denying the access
its becoz asp.net application requires SE_TCB priveledge in win 2k
can anybody send me the code by which i can make it work on windows 2k

Hi,
I'm calling a web service method and I occasionally get a server timeout error. I'm notified of this by a message which says I'm not trapping the exception yet the error occurs in a try catch clause which catches an Exception object.
What's going on? Is this type of exception not a standard type of exception?

you can set the server.timeout period. This can eliminate the error.
