You want to add a new cell within the one containing the link button? A nested cell? HTML tables don't work like that....

If you create the table like this:

<asp:Table ID="MyTable" runat="server"></asp:Table>

then you can add rows and/or cells like this:

TableRow tr = new TableRow();
TableCell td = new TableCell();

tr.Controls.Add(td);
MyTable.Controls.Add(tr);

but if i did this code the row will be the last row

i want to add the new row after the current row

if i am clicking in rowindex 2 the new row will be rowindex 3

Hi all

i am using a web service in my asp.net 2.0 project
wstest.WebservicePvr.com/ABCClass.asmx

there are folder created like

App_WebReferences 
  -wstest
	-WebservicePvr
		-com 
		  -ABCClass.disco
		  -ABCClass.discomap
		  -ABCClass.wsdl

then i have created the object like follow in all the code behind file.

using wstest.WebservicePvr.com;
ABCClass _objABCClass=new ABCClass();

using this code accessing the all the web method and i have done my project and it working properly.
Now the problem i have to change the live webservice
Is it possible to handle this problem from the web.config.
Please help.

The url of the webservice can be specified in your .config file rather then hardcoded in the proxy. To do so, right-click the web reference and set its connection property to dynamic. Also, the proxy has a url property that you can set. For programatic manipulation, see examples here[^] and here.[^]

I was wondering along my route through Atlas and such. If you have a single UpdateProgress in your master page then it will show the progress panel on any inner pages asych call. Is this correct and also can this be prevented at certain times for certain UpdatePanels?

The following code works:

As I said, all works well here. However, I would prefer to have the following display for the ToolTip instead:

ToolTip='<%# "View " & Eval("FullName") & "' employee information." %>'

However it does not like the single quote ('). I have tried placing 2 and 3 single quotes in a row and it still fails.
Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply however it literally show up the "'". I even tried the following:

ToolTip='<%# System.Web.HttpUtility.HtmlDecode("View " & Eval("FullName") & "' employee information.") %>'

It failed as well.

Any other ideas?

Thanks but I have already tried that as well. I get the usual 'server tag not well formed' error and the page does not render.

I'd rather not use a code-behind function.
Here's the work-around I came up with:

ToolTip='<%# "View " & Eval("FullName") & chr(39) & "s employee information." %>'

It doesn't seem to mind the chr(39) with in the html.
If anyone comes up with a better one, feel free to post...

Have you tried string.Format()? I think the Eval function can also be used in the way directly.

It liked this:

but not this

ToolTip='<%# String.Format("View " & Eval("FullName") & "{0}s employee information.", "'") %>'

For some reason it really jsut does not like the single quote.

i am creating a web based c# application.. my IDE is visual web dev EXPRESS... is it possible for me that i can get the ajax toolkit in the express edition itself. or wud i have to go for the complete edition.

also wud i able to be implement ajax functionality in the site i am working with. or create a new AJAx enabled ASP site.

I believe it should work for the express as well, though I cannot confirm as I have not tried it.
Just install the following from their download section: AjaxControlToolkit.zip, ASPAJAXCTP.msi, ASPAJAXExtSetup.msi & ASPAJAXSamples.msi. Read the documentation as they need to be installed in a specific order. When it comes to deploying, just make sure all of the dll are in your apps bin folder. You do not have to install AJAX on your server.

We are currently running it on a test server. Though a department is using the application as if it was a production server with it is using live data. It has not been officially moved to the production box. So thanks for the heads-up. For confirmation, the ASPAJAXExtSetup.msi needs to be installed on the server but how about the ASPAJAXCTP.msi? Does it need to be installed as well. The reason I ask is I had difficulty getting it to work on our main dev box. I would install but could not uninstall and it would never work. It showed up in the GAC but the gacutil would not remove it either. This was probably an Atlas version from Sept. or Oct. To this day it does not work on our main dev box. So I have been reluctant to install it on another server.
