hi
i am creating a web based c# application.. my IDE is visual web dev EXPRESS... is it possible for me that i can get the ajax toolkit in the express edition itself. or wud i have to go for the complete edition.
also wud i able to be implement ajax functionality in the site i am working with. or create a new AJAx enabled ASP site.

I believe it should work for the express as well, though I cannot confirm as I have not tried it.
Just install the following from their download section: AjaxControlToolkit.zip, ASPAJAXCTP.msi, ASPAJAXExtSetup.msi & ASPAJAXSamples.msi. Read the documentation as they need to be installed in a specific order. When it comes to deploying, just make sure all of the dll are in your apps bin folder. You do not have to install AJAX on your server.

The AJAX extension DO need to be installed on the server unless you can run your app under full trust mode.

We are currently running it on a test server. Though a department is using the application as if it was a production server with it is using live data. It has not been officially moved to the production box. So thanks for the heads-up. For confirmation, the ASPAJAXExtSetup.msi needs to be installed on the server but how about the ASPAJAXCTP.msi? Does it need to be installed as well. The reason I ask is I had difficulty getting it to work on our main dev box. I would install but could not uninstall and it would never work. It showed up in the GAC but the gacutil would not remove it either. This was probably an Atlas version from Sept. or Oct. To this day it does not work on our main dev box. So I have been reluctant to install it on another server.

i just downloaded Ajax framework and ajax toolkit.. nuthin else.. and cant find any documentation.

Install the ajax extensions first, then build the toolkit and add the DLL to your project.

There are plenty of examples available on adding the controls to the toolbox and the extensions will install a project set up with the web.config sections to use.

The wizard is a template control and like all good template controls you can edit the templates ("Edit templates" under the task menu in design mode). From there you can add/remove controls as you see fit.

I am having signup page that contains username,pwd,confpwd,Email,Address and one save button .
when user enter his details and press save button it should save details in database.
i have done upto here.But my problem is:
if Email Entered already Exsists in database then it should display a message that Email already exists in Database.also i want to display email already exists errormsg in frontend label
For this what i have to write Code .Pls send me the Code .

Simply write a stored procedure and pass email id as parameter. There select the email id where email id = sent email id. this way, if null is returned then means, email doesn't exists else it exists.
