Within a different groupbox, i have 8 different textboxes. How do i take the first element from the listbox and put it into the first textbox, second to second etc... They are all on the form at the same time. Can a loop easily do this? I will then put the captured data to a SQL 2000 database table. I have no problems with the database stuff, where I really need HELP is how to capture the data beginning sent via TCP/IP port. I have the scanning hardware setup on my desk and working. Using the scanners setup software I can see that it is sending data out from its IP address on port 1024. The output string has a starting Header of “STX” and an ending footer of “ETX”. Example (STX**************ETX) * = Barcodes Data I would appreciate any help. Have not done any coding with TCP/IP before. You'd connect to the IP and port of the device and setup a NetworkStream object to read the data comming from the scanner. Exactly how you implement this, though, should be documented by the manufacturer of the scanner. This is the Window Procedure function declaration that already exists in all VB6 Forms and controls. If you want to subclass the form, you'll have to supply your own, alternate, WndProc. That has nothing to do with the fact that the libraries comes from Oracle. You will also have to configure the tnsnames.ora file to be able to connect to the database. I think the .Net framework team developers must include those files inside the .Net framework to be more flexible and to less the need to install Oracle client each time you install your application into some machine in your company.
