Hello All,
I am using GridView Control of ASP.Net 2.0. The problem is I want to hide the column containing record Primary key and still want to access it on RowBound Property. If I hide Primary Key column then its values are no more accessible. Also please tell me if there is any ID attribute associated with BoundColumn of GridView as I did not find it any where. I do want to access columns not by index but by ID name.

u can write the property like visible=False in html window for this.
then it will be hide and u can also access the column..
just try this...

when u write a select command for ur grid for binding u can use datakaysname for ur primary key
write DataKeyNames="id" in html code where ur gridview created and then u can write:
datagrid.datakey["tbl_id"]
but u should write id in ur select
for example : select id,name,lname from aaa

Dear All,
I have a grid that has a clickable image in one of its column. When this image is clicked, the Detail form appears with number of text boxes. Now, for the first time, the detail form shows correct data related to the clicked record on the grid. The grid is updated and shows the updated values. Now if I try to change the same record, again the detail form appears but this time it shows older values, means somehow it is retaining its value.
For all the textboxes, I have set ViewState=false and AutoPostBack=false.

hi,
i have a problem i hava two forms in my c#(asp.net) one can contain the textbox and a button whn user click on that imagebutton a popup window is opened and the calandar is displayed ,user select the date from the calander this selected date is displayed in the textbox.tell me how can i use this c#project in my vb.net (asp.net) project.aur tell me some otherway?
aur if some one have code snippect regarding my problem then send it only for clue purpose.

Obviously you cannot mix two diffrent languages withing one project so you either need to create a new project which implements your 'date selection functionality' or you need to re-write the 'date selection' in VB. I think the last one is the best solution, because I think the best way to accomplish the date selection uses mostly client-side code, which will be exactly the same in VB and C#.
Just create two new web-forms within your VB project and copy the code and where needed, translate them, this cannot be a hard job to to for two relatively small pages.
By the way, what the hell means 'aur' ??

If you are using the ASP.NET 2.0 then you simply include the two web pages into your project as the new version of ASP.NET supports multi languages. If it's 1.1, you'll have to convert the code like someone said.

I am able to open a window using buttin click and few lines of java script code. But I am unable to pass the values of this second or child window browser to the first browser or the parent browser. Can any one u advice me or give me little much of code to achieve this task.

I'm just looking at the cross page postback in ASP.NET 2.0, and all the examples do it by setting a property on a button, is it possible for a button to run a normal click event, and a cross page postback to be initiated in the event code ?

I'm pretty sure I read an article somewhere on this site that described a methodology for strongly typing page names within an asp.net application which could be used for Response.Redirect's. The purpose of this was to be able to check at compile time any invalid page redirects. I believe the syntax was something like:
Response.Redirect(MyURLClass.Pages.something);
Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about here?

Hi,
i am, putting break points in my login page but i am unable to debug that page. Can any body tell what is the exact problem. i.e when i am running the application the control is not going to that page. If i am putting the break points to some other pages, the control is going to corresponding page but i am unble to debug my login page.

Well I might need further information for resolving the problem. But for now try to make your Login Page as Start Up Page. And then insert break point on this page.

I am working in asp.net 2.0. I am including calendar control and adding textbox with each cell thro the following code on calendar dayrender event.

The above code adds textbox with every cell of calendar and put its text as "0". But now i want to give "V" for some textboxes for eg. if the date is 4th July, Jan 1, Dec 25 like this then instead of "0" that particular textboxes text will be like "V". Please Help Me.

You'll have to have a version of IIS installed. IIS on winxp pro supports only one website, so for creating a new website you'll have to have IIS installed on a win server (NT, 2003 you name it). If you want to test on your winxp machine, you must create a virtual dir (application).
In case you created a new website on a server machine, you can visit the website by adding the website name in you hosts file (drive:\\window\system32\drivers\etc\hosts) and typing the url of the website in your browser.
In case you added a virtual dir in IIS on your workstation, enter http://yourcomputername/VirtualDirName/startpage.aspx
