Dear All,
I want to fire message box while my one function is running and after clicking yes on message dialoge, i want to process another code in VB.Net.
is their any technique that i can use to do so other than javascript...because javascript allows me to fire confirmation box on click event of button or any control.. i want my message box fired in between code running...

Hi TC,
Your problem description is a bit vague. Do you just need confirmation from the user before the process can continue, or do you want to run two processes at the same time, one of which should ask for confirmation while the other one just continues?

NO - if you want a message box on the client, Jscript is the language that runs on the client.

The And operator ( && in real programming languages ) returns true if the value on the right is also contained in the value on the left. In other words, if Directory is 0010 in binary, then 0011 and 0010 will both return true, 0001 will not.

If Directory is a number ( and, as an enum, it is ), and it's binary representation is 0010, then the collection of values represented by 0010 and 0011 will both contain the Directory value, and will so both return true when Anded with Directory.

to FileAttribute.Directory(10000)
example of directory
10110 and

why is both cases we have to add the value(10000)

You're not adding, you're comparing. The AND operator returns true if a flag is present on both sides.

u can do it by installing ms-speechengine speechsdk51 (available to download)
there is sapi controls would be added inside ur toolbox.u can activate these controls using adding items in toolbox.u can find help in vbcode.com by search of sapi.

Then start Googling to do your own research on what's involved since you appear to know nothing about what you're getting into.
Also, VB6 is probably not the best language to choose for this. Visual C++ would be much better since you'll need the performance benefits.

Hello,
I have the code below in a combo boxes keyup event. I want to do something then the user presses the tab key. But it does not work. I have tried this with other key i.e. enter, shift, letter, and numbers. But does not work when the user presses the tab key.
Does anyone know why this is.

The tab key moves focus to the next control. If you want it to do something else, I'd guess you need to catch KeyDown, not KeyUp.

 I am stuck on a project. I have a .txt file with 8 separate lists in it. Each list is separated by a "#" sign. I need to use StreamReader to read each individual list from the file and transfer each list into a separate combo box for user selection. I can read the file but I am having trouble passing each line of a list into the combo box. Basically I only get the last line.
My Code is as follows:

Hey all,
I was wondering if I'm even looking in the right direction on this one.
What I want to have happen, is in the client's PC, call CreateObject('ObjectOnServer.MyClass') then begin using the methods I built into the class on the server. Something like... getXML('identifiy where the xml is') and that will pass me back the XML.
Can the CreateObject access a class on the web? If so, any pointers on how would be appreciated.

This will only work if the component you want to call is registered on the clients machine as a remote-call object. You cannot specify the path to the object in the ProgID string you pass to CreateObject. Your object registration file must include this information. You'll use RegSvr32 to register the component using this file, just like any other. The registration file you use depends on the component you're registering.
